i will leave this post for a few days in this section before moving it to the faq section

to begin, we jacked car up, fitted jack stands on both sides and took the wheels off

you will notice the outer part of my carrier has been grinded off due to high offset wheels



firstly you gota push the caliper piston all the way back to ensure easy removal of caliper and for easy fitting once completed



once the piston is back, release and remove 2 number 6 allen key bolts holding caliper onto carrier



once both bolts are out, pads and anti rattle clips are removed and i just moved the caliper out of the way for space



remove screw holding disc onto the hub



comparing the 2 discs - you will see new disc has no screw hole - discs may be fitted without them but just make it slightly harder to keep steady - extra hands help here



sprayed calipers and carriers black while they were off



2 bolts hold the carrier onto the hub and have to be removed before refitting with spacer plate



spacers plate fitted and carrier refitted







lastly fit in new pads with new anti rattle clips, fit caliper back on, refit allen key bolts and you're all done



only problem was the caliper touching the wheel so i took off my rear 5mm spacers and fitted them in front. fitted a temp set of 8mm at the rear but plan on getting 10mm soon

wheel back on



lastly remember, always bed new brakes in properly

this upgrade really improved my breaking and it looks good having that huge disk fulling up the space behind the rim, i can recComend it:) im using ferrodo platinium pads, what pads are u using and how is the breaking now?

the kit sold by volkspares includes bosch pads which i kept to get the discs bedded in nicely before i consider changing them

i only fitted it today and the bedding in process doesnt allow for you to utilize full breaking till after doing +-1000km

Fitted this kit to mine last weekend as well, also still bedding them in.
Altho' I didn't need any spacers or grinding to get the caliper to clear the velo rims I have.
Can already feel the difference between the 239mm setup and these.

How much does a set like this cost? Does the disc come with the holes drilled for a mk1? And are these spacing plates included? Would I need it on 17"s?

The 280/288mm kit will fit inside a 15" rim...

the kit is R1000 from volkspares, it includes discs, labour for drilling, spacers with bolts and pads.
They will fit 17s perfectly if your offset is 35or below

what he means is it fits for any rim 15inch and above
