Golf Mk3 GTS AFV Engine question!!

Hey all...

Got a Mk3 GTS the other day and was wondering if anyone knows what type of motor it has and the specs?

I was thinking a 1.8 8v fuel injection?

It's number starts with AFV and I cant find any info on this motor...

Sorry, dont know much about the non-GTI engines

What model is your car

Pre 96 iirc was carb spec

post 96 was MP9 1800

Yes, its a late 1996 model.

Have you heard of a engine number starting with AFV before?

Yes mp9 1800. 82 kw - torque was something like 165 nm if I remember right. Basically the same motor as what you would have found in the firt polo 1.8I.

It is 1800 and came in the gts golf3.
