VW Umhlanga - ripoffs

Post by Blue-ICE »

Yup, charged me R500 for a brake fluid change (which I requested at the 75k service) and as VWF Dust pointed out during the brake pad change nothing was done. Went there today and they cant tell me why it wasnt done, booked in for Wednesday again. When I asked where I can lodge a complaint they just ignored me.

So anyways, watch out. Wonder what else they missed.

Go to www.vwsa.co.za and lodge a complaint with VW Customer services, believe it or not they do follow up on these complaints. Dealers normally try and surpress these complaints, but I have had good feedback with VW Customer services....

Well, the dealer service manager called me over the weekend and told me that they did change the oil the first time. The tool they use to remove the nipples to bleed the brake fluid does not leave marks, you need to have the car lifted if you want to see it the marks. I told him we were changing disk pads and there was nothing but 75,000km of dust on the rears brake lines, he insisted their tool marks is hard to see and they hardly touch the nipple to flush the system. When I asked about why my brake fluid was a very dark yellowish black he said that is colour of the brake fluid they use. They dont use the clear brake fluid as brake fluid comes in all sorts of colours, and that the dirt inside the brake fluid container will dirty it. When I asked him why his technician on inspection of the brake fluid when I took the car back said nothing was done on the brake fliuid, he just said the technician did the wrong inspection.

Sounds just way to convienant. Was away in JHB from Thursday and got back now, will inspect again tomorrow on what they did on Wednesday. I just dont appreciate being told something is wrong by themselves, have them appear to redo it, and then get called and told that I am wrong about everything.

Yeah I did, they called me and said they will follow up. So I got that call from the dealer guy a day or so later. He is just trying to cover up for his guys now it seems and making out that everything was done originally.
