Need to know....

So my Vr6 just wanna start when it wants. The first time this happened and after what electricians said i had to get my keys and receiver reprogrammed. Never used my second key until now when it started to not start again so i took it again so the computer can tell me what's wrong. Now the code is saying it's the "engine speed sensor." So i start it up again and drove off.

Like i say it only does it now and then but with my wife driving the car i'm afraid she might get stuck somewhere for it is unreliable...

So i got myself ordering one of these sensors at a fear good price but Volkswagen ask me R500 for laiber which they can shuff!!
Can someone send me a pic or good indication where this sensors is located please???

I think i've seen it when i chainged the oil filter. Very close to it on the block. Is that the one?? Can i do it myself??

Sensor is to the left of the filter close to the flywheel side by the sump.
All you need to replace it is a 10mm spanner/socket or a 5mm allan key.

So i bought this speed sensor and installed it today(Monday) but since Friday it just didn't want to start anymore. So i installed it today but now it still doesn't start This really drives me up the wall.
This is then what the VAG said is wrong. Is there any tricks that i'm missing???? Must i unplug the battery and wait a while and then trie or how do you reset if you don't have the computer to do it yourself??
Please i need help, anyone???
