what do you need to do a budget engine swap

Post by whoops i gotta golf »

I am still very new to all this, but I want to do an engine swap to my 1.4i citi golf on a very small budget, what would I need both parts and tools wise.

I dont know if my car has mp9 fuel injection? how do I check what I have. I want to put something bigger than a 1.4 or 1.6.

I want keep the same gearbox (fzz I think its called), no turbo as well and I preferably dont want to fiddle too much with the wiring.

It is a very basic car, no ac or anything fancy to worry about. And is there maybe instructions to follow on how to do the swap.

please help me out

Is your current motor reaching end of life or do you simply want more power?

There are a few threads in this technical section specifically around citgolfs and 2.0 AGG/ADY/2E engine conversions

There are also a few around 16v engine conversions.
Budget, availabil tools skills and friends are all contributing factors
