2.0l 16v Cylinder Head

Hi everyone. I'm new on this forum. I don't know as much about cars as you all do and need to ask a question.

There is a Jetta 1991/92 big bumper 2.0l 16v in the family that used to belong to my late brother. It's not driving because the cylinder head was swoppped/stolen years ago when the car went in for a minor repair. I did notice a difference how the car struggled to start when I got the car back, but it's one of those problems that is your word against there's and they will just deny everything and say they just did what was asked and maybe the car was like that when it was brought in.

It's only after another family member took the head to be sceamed that he was told that there is no more metal left on the head to be sceamed off as the head is on it's thinnest. My family member then said that that is impossible as the car has been in the family sinse all most new and that the motor was never taken apart.

It's then that I put 2 and 2 together and realized the mistake I made by telling the machanic that I intend selling the car. The machanic took our good head and replaced it with a worn out head.

Well now I want to ask if those heads are still available and where can I source one and how much will it cost?

I am flirting with the idea of restoring or at least getting the car running again.

I have a 9A head, pretty sure that it will fit. If you are somewhere near Centurion we can arrange a meet and make sure that the head will fit. I'll be back on the 7th
