Hi everyone.
I am getting an EPC light on my 2018 Up! 1.0 & after some investigation it seems that the spring in the throttle body has snapped.
A complete throttle body from VW costs R9441.50 & they don't sell the spring separately.
Has anyone attempted this repair and if so, are there any places where I can buy the spring separately?
The other option would be to buy a 2nd hand throttle body from another car breaking up for spares... any good places around CT?
Last question - is the throttle body on the 1.0 engine identical to the one on the 1.2 engine?
Thanks.

Re: 1.0 Engine throttle body
Is the broken spring still in the TB? I'd see if I can use it as a sample and go to a spring supplier... Otherwise, does the car drive OK?
edit: I see there are UP TB's for sale on eBay, might be cheaper going this route?
ps: saw this one on FB marketing, not sure of details, can try him https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 8224800078

Re: 1.0 Engine throttle body
Thanks @Howie-WP... I saw that post on FB but the TB has been sold.
Car was in limp mode, so driving, but slower than usual - slow at the best of times
I managed to make a fix using the broken spring - will test it for a while, and if it lasts, I may post my method here... so far so good, EPC light off again and car driving normally

Awesome..... post up what you did. It's all about sharing the knowledge. Keen to see what broke and what you did, as I forgot it is likely one of those spiral springs, I was thinking old normal carb type spring. I saw a thread on a Audi site where some suggested making a new one with normal stainless wire.
