Hi there,I am experiencing some interference over my speakers when the engine is running.
I was having problems with the head unit switching off from time to time so I decided to power up directly
from the battery with an in line fuse but after that there was no more switching off but this engine
sound interference,could it be that maybe this power cable is too close to the cables running to
the amplifier,I want to remove the head unit but just looking for some advice so when I remove
it I know what or where to look for a solution.

Grounding issue and power cables running to close to your RCA's, make sure the head unit is grounded properly as well.

RCA's and power cable on the same side of the car?

I always run the power cable on the side where the main wiring harness is and the RCA's either down the center or on the opposite side.

If they are already separated, then what Headunit is in the car?

I once had to ground the outer of the RCA's to the headunit. It was a JVC deck.

More than likely this. Even more likely if it is a Pioneer HU. Cable from the back of the HU to the body to ground it should help.

In a Mk7 Gti they call it a soundactuator

More than likely this. Even more likely if it is a Pioneer HU. Cable from the back of the HU to the body to ground it should help.

It is a Pioneer head unit,why do they need a more solid grounding than other HU?

If connected incorrectly originally, I think an IC or something in the HU blows and then needs the additional grounding to sort out that interference.

Wrap the wire around the outer metal part of one of the RCA's and then to the back of the cage of the HU. So not the metal point that goes into the HU, but the outer metal part. If that makes sense.

Hey bud it's somewhere on the circuit board, I honestly don't know where or what they look like. Some of them look like a diode and others like a tiny wire strand - whenever I had this issue I just grounded out the rcas, didn't try repairing or replacing it..

Google the model number of ur radio, eg "xxxxxx Pico fuse" some1 must have done a repair at some stage
