hi there, i have a vw polo 1.4i 2008 and 2 of my fuel line connectors have broken ..my petrol filter have 2 protrusions on the one side where a fuel line connector fits on each protrusion and on the other side there is only 1 protrusion and another fuel line connector fits on that one. could someone please explain to me which fuel lines go to the engine and which to the tank as i am about to purchase the fuel lines but need to know should i purchase the longer line that go to the engine or the shorter one that go to the tank. if i am not mistaken the 2 fuel lines on the one side of the petrol filter, the 1 is blue and the other is black.

This thread is uselss without pictures. Your explantion means nothing to me.
Anyway there is an arrow on the filter it points and says 'OUT' that line goes to the engine. The other two ar from there to tank.

Should look like the pic below:
On the side with the two pipes - the top one (in the pic) marked 'IN' comes from the fuel pump, the centre one is the return back to the tank. The single pipe on the other side is the feed to the engine, goes onto the fuel rail.
