Complimenting Polo’s Sporty credentials, is the Polo GTI manual version- now available for ordering.
SPORT SELECT OPTION
• When the driver presses the 'Sport' button this activates an electro-mechanical switching valve in the dampers which alters their tuning from the more comfortable basic setting to the stiffer characteristic of a true sports suspension
• The engine noise heard inside the car also changes due to the sound actuator.
• On the 7-speed DSG, the transmission changes automatically from D to S mode

True story. The car is beautiful, but people are starting to realize the value other brands are offering these days compared to vw.
Even if not other brands, the pre-owned market gets you so much car for this amount of money.

The Polo is streets ahead of the Fiesta in terms of build, fit and finish, materials used, comfort etc etc...(I also bet you will get a load more back for it come replacement time)
I don't think car prices have so much to do with the manufacturers being greedy as with our dimwitted government F'ing up our currency.

But the Rand/Euro was R14.50 a year ago, then strengthened to R13 at the beginning of 2015 and weakened again last week to R14. Yet VWSA did not decrease their pricing when the exchange rate strengthened or the after the oil price fell (shipping became a lot cheaper). They only know one way and that's up. It's bullsh$t.
Love vw... just wont buy one again. Vw aftersales service here in PE just put me off, any excuse not to fix something and let you pay for it.
Maybe in another country i would buy one again.
Just my 5c.
@op the manual version should be much more popular being cheaper and having more torque. Sorry for hijack

Not all manufacturers do that , the new Ford Focus prices are cheaper with better engines and spec than the out going N/A models , lots more fun in the corners too.

The pricing on all their(Ford) vehicles are aggressive at the moment, they are aiming for market share it seems.

Yep , but since focus MK1 they have really done well , and can't come with the German build nonsense the focus we get is sourced from Germany .
Kavi4GP wrote:But I know the polo will be a great car and seller . Just pricing needs to be adjusted and since locally built maybe put some options as standard .
