1992 CLI Exec MK2 Electric windows

The windows stopped working yesterday. I have been looking for the fuse but cannot find it. Does anybody have an idea where as it is not specifically listed on the fuse box cover?

Secondly, chapter 12 of the Haynes manual is not available on this website. Does anybody have it for me?

If i remember correctly, I'd suggest you check the fuses from about the 9th one from the left to the 15 th one. I think it's the 12th one, but could be wrong.

I found the problem. It was relay no 24. Contacts were burnt. Replace it and presto, all in order.

My left window on the MK2 stopped working on Sat, it went down and now it won't come back up, it is making a grinding noise like something is loose.

What is the problem? You can hear the motor spinning but nothing happens.

It is probably where the glass are attached to the winding mechanism. It could be rust or the bond just gave up. Strip it and see.

To help the window motors and relay:

Clean and lube (Silicone spray), the window rubber, where glass slides.
Youl be amazed how much quicker and easier they work after wards.
