That pic is probably top spec, european press picture. Doubt if it'll look like that here. Similar, but not the same.G-UNIT wrote:I'm going to hate the fact there a dude in a polo driving around with the same interior as me![]()

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Ok, so after driving around in the rain the last few days up here in Gauteng, I've noticed that the wipers don't do such a great job. If I set my wipers to "Auto", the first couple of wipes tend to leave the windscreen a little hazy, causing the sensor to blur a little and switch the wipers to berserk-mode (fastest) even in light drizzle.
The first time I changed the wipers on my 2006 Polo was after like 3 years of driving around. Surely, with the car only a few months old (was registered in April 2013), this doesn't need replacing already!
Also, does anyone know if there's a database to track or find out whether your car was involved in an accident somewhere before you purchased it (besides the obvious asking the dealer)?

I've noticed that my back glass wiper is terrible and drags on the glass. If it is very rainy (thunderstorm rainy), then it is fine. I can't understand how they tested it

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Well haven't posted in this thread since i got my car.
It's in for its first service today. Get a call from the dealer the car won't be ready on time as thier parts department does not have an oil fiter for the car.
Overhaul the car has not skipped a beat in the last 15000km.
I am quite supriced that I have not had to top up the engine oil. On my other diesels I would use between 500&700ml oil between services.
Have had no issuse with the wiper or radio reception.
Its still a little heavy on fuel open road it will run at 5.7l/100 and in town around 7l/100. Will see after the service if it comes down.

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Hi Guys,
My car went in for a service yesterday and while it was there i told them about a scrapping noise i get when ever i turn the steering wheel left or right even turning less than 5 mm you could hear it and was constant and not intermittent. The car is still there and would seem that the steering rack which apparently has the power steering electrical unit attached to it may be faulty, only makes the noise once on its wheels not on the lift, so we shall see. The wiper blades are an issue though with the smearing but seems they have replaced them now in the service.
Adios!!

Well my first service is done and dusted. Asked them to check all the heat-shields under the car and the suspention (frond & back). They found nothing loose but torqued all the suspention bolts just in case.

If you can afford it take the rear view camera, it's a big help and chances are it will solve radio reception issues,

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
I am 3000km away from my 30k service. Still love the car.
I got a reminder recently saying I should take it in the next 20 days. Phoned my dealership, and they said it was a mistake. They probably didn't reset it properly after my 15k service, and that I should ignore it or could probably reset it myself. Anyone know if it is possible to set the next service date?
Something that I have recently noticed is a rattle noise in the aircon, usually on hot days for the first couple of minutes until the car cools down.

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Guys my car is now on 3400km. Is there a 7000km service that needs to be done? I know I should have looked at the service book, but i keep forgetting to. Also, where can I find a list of accessories for the 7 GTI?
Thanks
Thanks

Hi KrugerG
There is no 7000 km service, 15 000 km only, the website doesn't give any accessories available, i would contact a dealership to find out.
What accessories are you looking for?

i'm pretty sure the car will whine when there's a service due.
regarding the accessories the dealerships have a little brochure full of pics on them.
here's one of the main pages.
although i think they are designed for the standard G7's not the GTi you have.

That you can get off Ebay, VW prices are ridiculous, I bought the tail pieces off Ebay and paid R300 landed in SA where VW were charging R1300 and they were held on with grub screws. Same with the MDI cable, here it was R900 i got it on Ebay for R145 landed in SA. Rather check on EBay.co.uk.
