I had a look at the RaceChip website yesterday. They have a plug and play unit which is compatible with the 1.4 TSI (90Kw) motor.

i'd be interested in either better efficiency (if possible) or a few percent extra power.
i'm not interested in destroying my warranty though so that would be the dealbreaker.

pretty sure you can get a pnp unit for the car..which will increase power a bit...and from what i've seen..after chip/remap if you drive sedately you will see an improvement in fuel economy also...

Howdy Doody Guys :hi:

Car has been great since the wastegate clip was replaced, honestly cannot complain about anything on this car of mine except the noisy Dunlop Tyres, I bought the Austin 18" wheels some time back and haven't fitted them yet, seem in the next week or so it would be a good time.

On the topic of lighting and bulbs, does anyone know if the fog light bulbs can be changed from the normal yellow ones to a whiter bulb to match the Xenon's and the side light when indicating left or right? Let me know if you do know

Thanks

Hey everyone!

Got my car back from VW Culemborg yesterday, the waste gate clip was fitted and the radio software updated  didnt think I could be any happier with my car but I love it even more now.

One thing did worry my though, they found that the sub frame on the rear suspension and firewall plates were lose so they had to tighten it up.

They said that the matter has been reported to VW SA, has anyone else experienced this issue ?

Did a couple of longer trips, and I'm on 15001 this morning. The next 15k will take a lot longer than the first 15k.

I must say, the consumption of the car really impresses. Car now shows 4.6l/100 for long-term, and my phone (which I use for fuel logging) shows 4.88l/100. So very similar.

That is excellent fuel consumption. I recently uploaded all my data to Fuelly and the best I have gotten is 5.4l/100km. Average since I bought the car is on 7.2l/100km. Should have bought a diesel I guess.

Hi GUys, anybody considered putting 19inch rims on their Golf 7 tsi/tdi with lowering kit? Some GTI drivers say that the tsi/tdi engines would take strain with 19inch rims which i doubt.

Hey GreenJustin

Shouldn't be a problem, I have 18" fitted to my TSI with no issues and I've seen a 1.2 TSI with 19" on, so it should be fine.

This week I bought a second-hand set of Mag Wheels and Tyres ($A800) to replace the after market Mags I had on my base model Golf MK7, they came off a Comfortline Model and they have only done 50klms.
Also sent was a set of black lug cap covers that all Golfs have from factory but the chrome bolts I used from my previous wheels are different and these cap covers won't fit, does any one know what size lug bolts I need. I take it that they would have to be the standard non- chrome type.
