I remember when i first got the car it sounded a little rough but as time went on it went quieter, i think you need to let everything loosen up and settle them i'm sure it will be a lot quieter, i must say since fittling the clip my car is so silent i can almost fall asleep,t eh dunlop tyres on my car are the shitised thing they're so noisy compared to other manufacturers of tyres.

mgbotha - i would be more than pissed about your steering wheel.

Wala -- PLEASE POST SOME PICS... Would love to see your car with the kit.
-- My engine does does sound a bit clanky (my g6 was much quieter) but i dont thinks it's anything to worry about.
although it wouldn't hurt to try to pinpoint the problem if there is one.

can you guys explain the suspension noise to me... maybe i have as well and i dont know coz i'm cranking up the tunes while i drive

They are making a plan with regards to steering wheel, it will get sorted. I don't have the suspension noise, i suppose it is the luck of the draw!!!

Like mentioned by the other guys the 1.4 TSI engine in the Golf 7 is not the quietest engine out there but I hear nothing distinctive that would raise an alarm for me.

Bit of a hijack. My 1.4 TSI in the G6 is very quiet.

The other day the SO tried to start it while it was running already. :bang:

Hi Guys! Was informed by VWSA that the noise on the suspension is only there when driving on uneven road surface, its normal and a comfort issue to me as the driver.Basically, they not gonna do anything about it and consider the matter finalised...

Audi A3, thinking about it?

The suspension noise, yes it is only there on uneven or when you hit a bump on the road

Unfortunately VWSA cares little about their customers. Whatever they don't want to fix, they give the standard response of 'This is a characteristic, not a defect'. A nice way of saying, 'Go get stuffed, we're going to rip you off and you can do sh1t about it!'

This noise in the suspension issue is noticeable on my Golf and I will be seeing about it with the dealer when I have a chance, I had a loan car once when my new Golf was having some warranty work done, it was a Golf MK6 and that was much quieter over speed humps and bumpy roads in the suspension than mine.
Sounds like shocker mounting rubbers or something.

On another issue. I had my new Roof Lining installed yesterday and I they did a great job, I can't notice any bad fitting problems.
I was amazed when shown how big the box that this roof lining came in from Germany, it must have cost a fortune for just shipment and the old lining has to be shipped back to Germany so they can work out what caused the water leak.
The Service Manager said they are looking at how the linings are stored prior to installation at the factory, he reckons water got into the box containing the lining when it was sitting on the shop floor.
So to the guy on this forum who was told it wouldn't be covered by warranty should check with his Dealer again as VW Germany know about this problem and have fixed mine.

I also complained again about the FM radio reception on my car and when they took the car for a test drive they found that there is still a problem and they will be contacting VW Germany about it for a better solution. The Service Guy said that in Europe they have many FM repeater stations dotted around the countryside and with the twin antennas on the Golf the radio scans for the strongest signal and switches accordingly to that station. But in country's like Australia and I guess S.A. we don't have that luxury of repeaters and that's where the problem occurs. There must be a fix for this problem as the next model up Golf with the reversing camera doesn't seem to be plagued by this problem.

I also mention there's a rattling noise coming from the engine and I was informed that they have a waste gate clip ordered for my car, I must be deaf as I couldn't really hear this noise but other people pointed it out to me.

Hi Guys,

My car went in today for the supsnesion to be looked at, specifically the front, with regards to noise over speed humps.

The loan car that given to me is the VW CC.
What a car?

Something that I noticed and would like to try out on the Golf 7 DSG and maybe other DSG drivers can try out.

When driving with position D, and you take your foot off the accelerator, the Revs drop down to idle, if you tap the brake or the
accelerator, then the revs go back up.

This was like shifting a manual into neutral
