hi guyz from the exotic country, for you Romania (Eastern Europe). When in fact your more exotic to me:)

I am since april 2013, the owner of a GOLF 7 1.4 TSI (122 BHP)

Ofc i will get right into the problem:

I got also the 2 most heavly discused issues:

1. wastegate clip - my dealer didnt even know about this issue until me - allready sent a complaint and waiting answer.
2. rear noise suspension - on low speeds on road bumps. didnt do any complaint yet, i am waiting to see how it evolves.

First of all i want you to ask if it is safe to drive the care until i get my wastegate clip fixed ? can something bad happened ? what did ur dealers say about this

Second of all any1 heard anything about what the rear noise might be. mine seems to be coming from the trunk.

1. You can drive the car. The rattling clip will not cause any issues. Apparently its just annoying and the new clip is being ordered and installed for petrol Golf owners,

2. Not sure about the suspension noise. Maybe somebody else can chip in?

Yes the rattling noise from rear suspension is a problem. Don't know what the solutions is?

This happens on uneven road surfaces especially when you approach places like traffic circles where, the road sruface has formed humps, also small humps in the road not the speed breakers.

The front left suspension- when you approach a speed hump.

Please note this all is only eveident on the left side.

So I have been doing some digging and seems like VW's cock up with the radio is the result of them using two other companies two design their new modular infotainment system.

These articles discuss elektrobit and panasonic automative systems involvement.

Essentially elektrobit is responisble for the human machine interface, if you hold in the menu button for a while then the infotainment systems service menu pops up, there you can see what versions of their code and modules are installed in your system.

Secondly panasonic automotive systems is responsible for the design of the head unit. As this is now a modular version, the head unit is what sits in the glove compartment. This should include the radio receiver unit. Panasonic would be responsible for hardware and firmware design. The question is whether they are using a software defined radio, (which would make updates very easy) or everything is done in silicon or and other components.

The fact that it is taking longer than 6 months to issue a proper fix and that a hard reset (sought of) fixes the problem, makes me wonder if this is not a hardware design error on their part.

From other forums we can gather that there are different hardware and software versions out there, if any of these versions work properly then I want it installed in my car. I am now gatvol of VW just saying I must wait. I spoke to the service manager again today and there is still no solution other than enabling RDS features that don't work.

Its time for VW to acknowledge the problem and fix it.

Re the suspension, I had a persistent squeak from the front left suspension in a corsa B from new, also just going over speed bumps. After a lot of back and forth, it turned out to be anti-roll bar bushes.

sorry and noted. Perhaps you could go work for VWSA, and sort out the rattles, squeaks and radio reception on what is supposed to be world car of the year. So that we can say we sought a solution and solved it!

Hi all,
I'm doing 9500 k's on my TSi comfortline now.
No suspension issues
I've never had any radio reception issues until now.
Due to the drop in temperatures, i have been using my rear window demister and when i switch this on, the radio reception almost completely drops

Switch it off and the reception returns back to normal.

There is slight rattle coming from my back right door, sound like something is loose.
And my rear windscreen washer leaks.

Haven't informed VW of these problems yet, I will when I get some feedback about the waste-gate clip.

Hi, I took delivery of my new G7 TSI Highline last Monday and I'm extremely impressed with it on all levels. I did however notice a rattle coming from the left side of the car and later when a friend was driving with me and sitting in the passenger seat I asked him to listen closely if can get to the source of it. He said he was hearing the rattle on the right hand side of the car. In trying to prove him wrong I held my head in the middle of the car and behold the rattle was coming from the middle of the car....it was my sunglasses in the holder in the middle causing the rattle! No other rattles besides that yet and no wastegate rattle either (touch wood!). Mileage is now on 600km. I've got the radio logo's loaded and managed to figure out how to get the album art to display when MP3s are playing from the the SD card. Has anyone managed to get the pictures of their contacts on their phones to display when the phone is connected via bluetooth?

The pictures of my contacts show using bluetooth, don't have any problems with that. Got the wastegate rattle at about 1500km's. Will get it sorted soon when VW fit my LED tail Lights.

Gorman i think another set of rims would look better on your car, do you want to sell me yours?

Ah that's one of the reasons i have an Android, S3!!

I considered the Highline, but after driving the DSG , it was enough to keep me from going the manual route even though there is a bit more power and better rims on the Highline. Both have there pro's and cons, if the highline was DSG i would have gone for it but as usual VW are very sneaky when it comes to these things. Never owned a DSG before but would serously recommend it to anyone who was considering it.

I tested the contact pictures display yesterday with a colleague of mine who has the Samsung SII and it worked perfectly! How is it that VW supply the radio with an Apple connector to plug it in, but via bluetooth the devices don't work as it should. I would imagine some update on the radio is in order, but from what I've seen so far in this thread, mine is on the latest firmware. Bummer!

I may not show up then.
You may have to un-pair your phone, then import your contacts list again.

I use an S3 but i will try it out on my iphone when I get a chance.

Hey guys, just phoned VW Mcdulings and the service manager has advised that the PCD for the 1.4TSi models is 5/100. Can anyone confirm this with their dealers where they bought the car from?
