Hi mgbotha

So what did the Dealer bulletin say about the Xenon Package? Not sure how you can attach the file, maybe copy and paste the text.

Below is what I received from the Sales Manager:

"VWSA is busy fitting rear LED lights to a vehicle In Jhb to see if there is any additional work required for compatibility . Once they have achieved this they will give us the go ahead with the resolve and to do the retro fit "

I see no reason for this not being compatible out of the box. If it works without much effort it might be a mod for non Xenon Golf 7 owners in the future.

will probably be the same bulb out issue when swapping mk6 incandescent to LED lights - which a bit of coding sorts out. If the plugs are the same, that at least is one less issue.

Hi,

Received a call from VWSA ( CIC ) today. The guys said they have a retrofit for the LED Tail Lights.

Germany is working on the retrofit and this should be available in 2 or 3 months.

The guys said changes or mods to the computer box so that the lights AMps are controlled and does not damage something else.

I guess wait and see :bang:

Has anyone thought of lowering or has lowered a Golf 7?

If so which springs? Highline or Eibach?

Not Yet  , it arrived yesterday  so will probablybe next week some time. They still need to do the PDI and Smash and Grab and the CLIP, check the radio software version. Then i was told to officially lodge a complaint to VWSA about the LED tails not received so they can add me onto the list. The dealer principle told me to do it so they'll action it sooner.

So probably by next week this time my signture will change from soon to be current to current :hurray:

Hi Guys,

I have pushed VW for a letter stating that a retrofit will be done on Non LED Tail Lights.

I received the letter yesterday afternoon.
Please do the same -so you have it in writing.

The radio software- The sales lady car had the software upgrdaded- but the problem is still there.

The clip- VWSA advised that this will be available around Mid July

Bud I can see so smiling all the way from here. We want to see plenty of photos after you take delivery.

I am still waiting on the clip to be fitted to my car. VWSA phoned all the dealerships and the clips that are available were already assigned to cars. So I have to wait for the new batch to arrive. Should be somewhere in July I hope.

My car is booked in next week to have the radio software updated and the wiper blade issue looked at. Also getting them to top-up all the fluids while I am there.

Wouldn't this affect the warranty?

Hi.
I have a Golf 7 1.4 tsi Comfortline (Manual) and experiences the same problems with engine noise and the radio. I took it back to the dealership and was told the noise was coming from a valve in the manifold (something to do with the CO2 levels) and that it was totally normal. I found it very annoying, especially on the high way when using the cruise control. Other than these issues I enjoy every moment with it. Drove down to Margate last month from Pretoria with one tank and enough petrol left for driving around there.
Does anyone know about the “plug and play” audio upgrade, what it costs and if it’s worth it? I sent several emails to VW with no responses. Or can I install a amp and sub without voiding the warranty?
