That's not cool, i would just buy the damn thing myself, cost R320 from VW N1 city, just get them to safemail it and fit it yourself, some of these VW guys are totally incompetant.
I paid extra for a maintenance plan to make sure I see no additional cost in the 5 years I plan to keep the car. No way I am going to buy that part myself but thanks for the idea.
mgbotha wrote:Just show them the pics to prove it!!
I did forward the pics to them. They admit that the part is installed but cannot explain how as it is not even released yet.

Hi,

Anyone thought of changing the Licence Plate light to LED?

I would like to, but I would like a softer white LED that doesn't overwhelm the rest of the lights.

I had my radio updated this morning and now I finally have good quality audio coming from the radio. No more loss of signal. What a freaken mission it has been to get VW to recognise the problem with the radio and the waste gate rattle. One thing I have noticed though is that my radio still reports the same software version. I can only think they must have hacked together this update after recalling the previous software update two weeks ago. The rds text feature is buggy as it doesn't display the radio station name when u save it. It only mistakenly ends up displaying the last portion of the song title as the station name. Never the less the radio works and I can finally enjoy what is supposed to be world car of the year.

Just remember the song name is sent in the same same text as for the station name. Wait for the station name to be displayed, hold down the station button and is should save the correct name.

Must check with Morne, would be interesting to hear what the fix is.

Edit: try turn my rambling into english

Thanks for the update William1234. My closest dealer also told me they have the software update available but I am going to wait for the clip to arrive for my waste gate before booking the car in.

Hi All. My Wife bought a VW7 after riding 10 years in a 1985 Corolla! But damn is she pissed off by the rattling noise!

Just to be 100% clear, the rattle starts when the indicator goes on to change gears and when in 6th its almost there all the time? small
crackling sound? VW in Somerset West says they have ordered a part that will make the noise better but not completely remove it.

No radio issues though.

Got a call from the dealer on Friday.

She said that CIC is now handling this issue as they have had numerous calls with regards to Non LED Tail lights.

So I guess I have to wait  until CIC has more info

Hi All,
Would love to say I have my golf 7 but unfortunately have been messed around by the dealer. I put in my order mid April, was told the car would arrive possibly first week of june, now when I did my follow up today was told first week of Sept. Am completely shocked at the incompetence of vw the glen sales people. No where during the last 6 weeks was I even notified of any delay infact was told the car would be leaving Germany on the 18th May, from what I gather the sales person did not follow up and the order was not captured as per the correct process and did not register on the system, have to now waite and see what they can do for me.

I hope by the time I do eventually get my car all these technical problems will be resolved.

I also ordered the xenon led drl's , pdc,sunroof,leather seats,ipod conector

Hi Govends

Sorry t I hear that the same happened to me, I orderd mine in Feb and was told end of april I'd get it bit apparently therr was a delay at the factory and pushed back, bollocks I think the demand now is just so great. Anyways which one did you order?

Thanks mgbotha,

Ordered the 1.4 comfortline dsg

Mine is just dealer incompetance, originally I ordered a silver one but was told they have a white one with the specs I wanted and it would come quicker now I find out they don't , just shocked that for such a big group surely they should train people on how to read and understand their inventory system.

Haha that's sounds so funny, because my car that was ordered for me and assigned to me left germany on the 18 May and is due to arrive 5 June in PE, chances are they thought my one was available and realised afterwards it was someone elses, as mine is also white and 1.4 DSG comfortline.

Hi Govends,

One good thing is that If you get your car in September, you will have the waste gate rattle fixed, hopefully the wiper blades issue and Hopefully the LED Tail lights :driving:

I will check with my contact at the dealership as they were quite quick in sourcing me a car

To wait till september will drive me crazy

Hi Govends,

For your own sanity, get the dealership to write Rear LED Tailights on the OTP, so they'll have no excuses!!!

Just got an email forwarded onto me from the sales person I was dealing with say that "production" will begin second week of june, and arrive in sa back end of july. They had to prioritize 207 customer orders (non gti) and also prioritize gti orders for time of launch and the clown from vwsa says he is sure the 'customer" will understand from this perspective.

Mmm mgbotha, does seem awfully similar, but still surely yours must have been allocated to you by a number, surely vwsa has some sort of inventory system that does these allocations otherwise 100 people would all be waiting for 1 car

Yeah the first one was, but about 2 weeks later i changed the spec a bit so they let the first one get built and transferred ownership to one that was 3 weeks later but still got an order number.

Guys who have the comfortline and are planning on buying the comfortline TSI,

Go to page 27 of the brochure. Look at the surrounds for the Lights switch. The brochure shows silver, but in reality it is black

Yip checked the brochure and the spec brochure and sure enough it should be chrome surrounds but I also came across a brouchure for march and a different one for april they both say chrome surrounds. It seems you have a mixture of trendline and comfortline
