You're looking at the UK spec sheet, the light assist does work in conjunction with the Xenon Package but if you read the VWSA brochure/Website/Spec sheet all downloadable off the VW website it specifically says front and Rear LED. I even spoke to a Salesman to confirm what they had been taught at their training, VW can't get out of this one!!!

Oops.. Sorry in that case..

The Dealer Principle that i'm dealing with tells me that the specs do differ from market to market and he has told me not to be too concerned with what's floating around on forums especially in Europe, he says generally VWSA get most things right but he says they sometimes get it wrong but they always rectify it.

I aslo asked the guy from VWSA when will the LED tail lights be available and he said from week 22.

I asked what the cost would be for the Xenon package- cos if it is the same as what I paid, then VWSA has some answering to do

He said he does not have the cost- so I guess the Dealership are ordering on the old cost

Update:

The Sales Manager writes to VWSA and say that on the OTP it stated Xenon Headlights and did not mention LED Tail Lights.

So my question to him was that, the quote also did not state :
" dynamic headlight range adjustment, dynamic bending lights, LED daytime running lights,
headlamp washer system and warning light for washer fluid level"

So does this mean that I need to make sure that all the above are working.
I said to the salesperson that next time I will make sure that all details are on the quote, every single word

Anyway aparently someone at VWSA by the name of Faraad is now handling this.

MG: What does your OTP or quote say for Xenons?

I just got off the phone with the Dealer Principal at N1 city and he told me VWSA can change the spec at anytime without notice but looking at the wording it isn't right, but then looking at all pictures for the official launch of the car with the Front Xenon's the rear lights you have on your car look right although i will agree the wording is completely wrong and misleading.

He said if the car arrives and there are no REAR LED lights and it looks the same as in the brochures and or as your car he'll discount the whole Xenon Package just on the basis of how it is worded, he can't do more than that really and you can't have them fitted at a later stage either as it will be too expensive for them i think. And to be honest i think the standard rear lights look rather nice for a change/ i saw the LED rears on the new GTI lit up and i'm not so sure it looks better then they are now, imo. So if you can get them to refund what you paid for the Xenon's then do that.

Not the point, but thus far, I also prefer the stock rears to the LEDs

I asked today about the turbo wastegate actuator clip on the TDI. My TDI isn't affected.
My radio is also apparently up to latest version already.

The cars will have whatever is available at the time of build, but most of them i've seen have bridgestone's on. Hankook's are good, michelin are a little bit noisy!!

I also have the iPod thing and that cable, but I'm not going to use an iPod/iPhone. I'm using a 32GB SDHC memory card for music. Want to use the MDI cable just to charge my phone, instead of using the cigarette lighter plug. So I need the MDI to USB cable.

website says ...
5.8" Touchscreen "Composition Media" Radio with CD, MP3, USB, SD Card & Bluetooth

There is no USB port !

You can just get the standard USB media in cable off Ebay.
Should be able to charge any phone off that and also play music off a USB stick.

If I understand it correctly the USB port will be removed if you opt for MDI MEDIA-IN. So you will have to buy the additional USB cable to compliment the iPod one supplied with the MDI MEDIA-IN. I rather use the SD card for my music and the iPod cable with Lightning converter to charge my iPhone 5 or play music off it if a song is missing from my SD card. Playing music directly off a phone using Bluetooth also works lekka.

You mean that the USB port is standard? Wish i knew that beforehand. R900.00 that I really didn't need to spend?

Although, i really don't see the point in that as one could simply use the USB port for their i-devices and other non apple devices.

Is there anyone on here that did not opt for the MDI in?

Bluetooth streaming is great but i cannot access a track listing (media library) on the head unit.

I give up. My dealer now also says that the part to fix the waste gate rattle will only be available in Germany from the 29th of July, even after I gave them the names of dealers where the part was already successfully fitted to other Golf 7's. They are at a loss for words on how this is even possible. Back on the phone with VWSA I guess...

That's not cool, i would just buy the damn thing myself, cost R320 from VW N1 city, just get them to safemail it and fit it yourself, some of these VW guys are totally incompetant.
