Nope. The dealer is still waiting on the part to fix the waste gate rattle (on back order). They cancelled the booking I had for yesterday. Will pop the service manager an email today to check ETA.
Well the dealer phoned me yesterday to say that they had received everything and the job will be done on Monday!

Great, let us know if the fixes work as intended. I am still waiting on the dealer to give me a new ETA.

Hey guys.
Recently upgraded to G7 1.4 TSI Highline.
Totally loving it!!!! I really wanted to add the Bi-Xenon head lights but was unable to as there was a 4 month waiting period (so I was told) and that would have affected my trade in.
Do you guys know if it is possible to get the Bi-Xenon lights installed now (I was told by my dealer that it is not possible as only the factory can fit them as an option when purchasing a new vehicle)

I'm pretty sure you can but you are gonna pay. My bro-in-law wanted Bi-xenons for his 6R GTI. R6600 for the headlight and R800 for the controller each!

A dealer will be able to order the parts if you tell them exactly what you need but they will not be doing the retrofit as it is factory installed item. Must say I am very happy with the non-Xenon lights. Did about 200 km night driving the other day and the road was lit up very nicely. Obviously the Bi-Xenon lights look a whole lot sexier than the normal lights.

After they have said my part was order i get this today!!!!
Good morning,
This email is with regard to part 04E-145-220.
We have placed through orders to Germany for this part.
However the part is currently unavailable and as a result Germany has rejected our orders.
The reason for this rejection id that Germany is only due to introduce the part on the 2013.07.01, thanks.
I am absolutely furious - has any ones rattle been sorted please please let me know

Honestly I am now completley gatvol of VW service.
My car is sitting at the dealership, (luckily i have a courtesy car) they are installing the clip for the turbo, but they cannot find the software update for the radio on the system. WTF?
VWSA promissed that the update was available 2 weeks ago.
The Germans have stated on this forum that there radios have been updated and now reflect version 170
http://www.motor-talk.de/forum/schlecht ... st37045380
Does it really have to be this difficult?

So now VWSA phones me back and to tell me that on the 10th May they received an email from Germany stating not to update the radios software as it does not resolve the problem.
And that this is the reason that the dealer can't find the update on the system.
They say we will have to wait more time to have a radio that works.
This is ridiculous.

I was so hoping for good news...

Also how can it take a day to install a clip?

I'm considering ordering that 1.4 Highline too, but a 4 month wait for Xenons.. eish
Does anyone here have Xenons fitted - didn't come across
this problem? (basically the Xenon package not including the U shaped daytime running lights)

Hi,
I have a 1.4 TSi comfortline and have Xenons. The dealer also said that I will get the car in August as all that is arriving has the standard lights.
Next I knew I had the car in two weeks.
When you sign the OTP, then you will see how quick they find you a car
Xenons make the front look slightly different, cos of the chrome strip that goes into the lights.

Hi Guys,
I'm new to the forum, i've been reading your gripes and concerns for some weeks now and i must say between you guys and the guys overseas, there seems to be 3 main problems with the Golf 7. The Wastegate rattle, The radio and the windscreen wipers streaking. I have ordered the 1.4tsi DSG comfortline myself and will arrive on the 7 June :hurray: (ive been waiting since the 9 Feb) could have had one already but i chose to wait so everything i wanted on it was all factory fitted. I've ordered it will every available accessory except the driver park assist options (a waste of money in my opinion).
Are any of you working through N1 city, if not i suggest you do because from my previous experiences, Culemborg, Bellville and Tokai totally suck :???: on the service front. I had my Amarok there 2 weeks after buying it new and there was a mark on the door guess what they did they swopped the whole door with another vehicle, they thought i wouldn't notice, gave it back and got my money back. But from my friends and collegues who have VW's they all swear by N1 city for service and wouldn't look any where else so i suggest giving them a try. This was partly the reason i ordered mine through them, i must say i get an update via email every week on the progress.
I have already requested the clip to be ordered by N1 city and they have just as precautionary, i'll check the radio out once it arrives.
As for the windscreen problem with the wiper i know that cutting a lemon and rubbing it on the affected area helps and taking the wiper blade off and rubbing baby powder on the edge does the trick especially on new blades.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the recommendation to use VW N1 City. Just a pity I am not in Cape Town.

Sure the Cape Town boys will give them a try.
With my windscreen wiper the up stroke from the parked position clears all the water but the down stroke leaves a streak of water. Not sure what that means but will give your herbal remedy a try.

Hi Dawie
Thanks for the Welcome!!!
This problem is not unique to VW alot of the newer cars are doing it, the reason - for efficiency the windscreen get more sloped but the pressure of the wiper blade onto the windscreen doesn't get increased and the rubber of the blade is harder for durability.I know form experience that it works, i had the same issue on the ROK and booked it in to get fixed, guess what they couldn't. So i remebered that a mate of mine told me to preserve car rubbers just rub baby powder on it, it make it soft and supple, i tried it and vwala it worked like a bomb and never had an issue again.
Try it out and let me know!!! - I have heard the dealership in Randburd - Strydom park is the bomb in JHB for service, don't know if you're near there!!!

Hi VaneshN
Yeah it does seem long, the problem was i was offered a couple of times even though i signed the OTP but they didn't have what i wanted on the car, for example i wanted the factory fitted towbar that tucks away and some other odd bods, they offered some to me but without the towbar, rear view camera and also didn't have the xenons.
I wanted all of that without compromise so i've decided to wait, rather wait than regret it afterwards. Also because of the wait the DP has said to me they'll give me a couple freebies i must just tell him what i want. So i've made my list and made sure the parts department have them already and they have

.
Dawie, I've seen the clip and i've aslo seen how it's fitted, it's pretty easy if you've got access to a lift. But looking at the clip now from William1234 the clip definately looks modified from the MK6 clip, it looks alot smaller and it wraps around the back, i think it looks for secure than the mk6 version

Yes unlike the MK6, the area where the clip needs to be fixed to on the MK7 is quite easily reachable. Must say that clip looks very different from the MK6 one. I still do not understand why the rest of us must wait for clips while William's was done so quick. I am sure there where some sexual favors exchanged.
