3mm left according to the VW service agent.

Would I void warranty if I get them changed elsewhere (other than VW)
I did my own pad at 50000. got the OEM pads from a GW dealer for less than what the VW dealer wanted.
I have always done my own brakes on all my cars under warranty without the warrant been effected.

Hi Guys,

Please help. From Yesterday I am getting an error: Adaptive Front Lighting Fault.

So what happens here is when I make turns my Fogs do not come on. I have to manually put the fogs on, they work fine.

What should I check?

Google says, check if there is any condensation in your headlights/fogs.

Brakes are safety items , as long as it is a SANS approved you won't have a problem , warranty still stands .

Hey guys!

I'm not new to the forum, but been inactive for a number of years now.

Recently bought a 2013 Golf 7 TSI 103kW HL with Xenon, sunroof, climate control, high beam assist, MDI and towbar. Reason I went for the 103 is because I was downgrading from a Golf 7 R DSG due to personal circumstances changing, but didn't want to give up all the creature comforts and all the power.

Generally very happy with the car!

I do have one or two of the issues you guys have spoken about, the first being the radio reception issue (sometimes I get fuzz or a random station before it tunes into what it should be on and then generally get quite a lot of poor reception while driving around) and the second being a creaky front suspension (which was also an issue on my R that VW could never sort out).

I took my car to VW Hatfield Bryanston to ask them to check all the software on the car and told them about the update you guys have done to sort out the radio. They checked on the computer and it says my car's software is all up to date, but I still have the radio issue.

So my questions are as follows:

- Which dealership in Joburg can I go to that knows about this and won't give me issues and arguments
- How can I check the software version of the radio? I went into where I think it is (I can't remember off hand now), but I just want to make double sure

The front suspension isn't a major issue for me - only happens first thing when I'm leaving home really.

Would appreciate some advice! Thanks!

Hi

Try Hatfield Braamfontein, never had any radio reception issues on my highline but did the software upgrade 2 weeks back when I took in my car for service - maybe that might help

On suspension noise, I've given up on that and made peace with it. Only notice it when braking or taking off.

I've also given up on the suspension issue.

The radio reception only improved after the update was done and my audio settings now looked like this.

to check version, press "setup" then go to system information.

Thanks guys. G, where did you have your radio update done? Sbu, did they update your radio software or just the car in general?

She does not work there anymore but when I was showing one of the guys in the workshop the suspension issue, I told him about the radio and he told the service agent what update to do.

If you do go there, be specific as to what version you want because the first time they tried fixing it, all that happened was that an "advanced settings" menu option appeared and that did not solve anything.

FYI on the suspension issue, they are order some special type of grease for the shock but I think that's bull sh*t.

OK cool - perhaps I'll call them and see if they know about it before I go. Thanks!

Have anyone with a TSI 103kw (Highline) had a waste-gate rattle issue? And if, so was it solved by the dealer? On mine I got told there isn't a fix as the 90kw TSI's turbo is different and the clip doesn't fit the 103kw model.

Also, anyone ordered and fitted any of these R-line headlights from Autostyle? http://www.autostyle.co.za/vehicle-cate ... -pair.html. Any feedback on the quality of the units and do they have both the LED driving lights lit like on the Golf R?

Hi Gorman, have the same issue and was informed by Hatfield that there's no fix yet for the highline.

I bought the unit from autostyle last year and yes it has similar drl as the golf r. So far have I've yet to experience any issues. They unit looks good if you fit the HID

Hi sbu, where did you get it fitted and how much did it cost? Did it cause any errors and affect your warranty?

Thanks in advance

Hey guys! I have an issue with my car. At night I'm really battling to see (and I have xenon lights) - it's as if the lights are aimed at the ground just in front of the car. I didn't have this problem with my R. I took it to VW and got the usual "it's normal" bull. Any advice?

Hi Sbu, great to hear I'm not alone with the waste-gate rattle. I've reported my issue at Barons Bellville without any luck in them attempting to get a fix for it. When going back there next, I'll inform them that I'm not alone. Then again - perhaps it's best to look for another dealer in the Western Cape that is more likely to go the extra mile, any suggestions from anyone in the Western Cape?

I've Googled and read other forums for a fix, but it's not always clear which TSI it is for. I've seen at many places where they mention that the 103kw also suffers the rattle even though the design of the waste-gate rod is quite different. If anything it is probably not as pronounced and hence often overlooked.

Do you have any pics of our car fitted with the headlights from Autostyle? Did you have to change your grill for the silver line to line up?

The line is not 100% aligned - went for the unit with red strip
