Gorman,
Barons Bellville are taking chances with you. I had my 15000km service done and mentioned to them about the wiper smear they initially told me warranty doesn't cover blades after 14000km, but they had a look and there was a TSB out for the wiper blades to was replaced under warranty, as for the Radio software i'm 1000% sure N1 City has it and they will do it for free and do it while you wait. They probably had not encountered the software upgrade before and that's why they told you that. To be honest i would stop going to Barons Bellville all together as there service are the pits and they never do what they're supposed to, N1 city on the other hand is completely different, they are superb, i have used almost all the Barons dealerships throughout the cape for servicing and repairs on all my VW's and i must say N1 city gives the best service of them all. Big up to them
Dantes inferno,
As for the transmission overheating, this can happen if you are shifting the car into Neutral and isn't advised at all especially on a DSG. A couple guys used to put it in Neutral while waiting at a traffic light and that would cause the transmission to overheat. I've read somewhere and i'll post the article, it's not advisable to use Neutral while the car is in motion and especially coasting down hill and so forth, the assumption is if you put it in Neutral you'll get better mileage but this isn't the case. Just my opinion.

Hey guys,
Have any of you found out what bulbs can be used to replace the yellow lights in the fog lights and the turn lights to white ones?

Have a bit of a stupid question. Has anybody gone and done a dyno on a 1.4 Auto Golf? Curious to see the figures at the wheels.

Is the new Golf 7 1.4 tsi manual/DSG faster then the Golf 6 1.4 TSI manual or are they similar?

Depends on the weight of the driver.

I've read the 6 might be *slightly* faster, but I reckon they'd be very similar.

What are all the current, known issues on the TSi?
1. Radio reception issues. Which radio?
2. Waterleak on roof lining-Rear
3. Some dealerships forgets to remove transit stops
4. Faulty wiper blade
5. Wastegate clip rattle
What else?
I just applied for finance on one and would like to request them to sort this before delivery.
I can confirm my car has 4 of the known issues.
1. Wiper blade - Weiss don't know about this. Anyone has a TPI?
2. Radio reception - Apparently they did this. But it's still not as good as my G6.
3. Rear suspension noise - No fix yet. TPI 22034188/2 says to hold off.
4. Front suspension noise - Don't know the TPI, but Weiss knows about this. Apparently a front bearing that needs replacement.
Other than that the car is brilliant. Done just over 600km so far. Much lighter on fuel than my G6 TSi. I used to use about R100 a day to work and back. Only use R70 now with the G7.
The bluetooth and handsfree works brilliantly with my Galaxy S5.

My Golf is almost a year old now and 17,000 klm's, the wiper blade was no problem to get fixed along with a new roof lining. I gave up on the Radio it drops out all the time when I'm in the country where it's hilly, it would have to be the worst radio reception in any of the cars I have owned, but I mainly listen to the UDB now anyway. The only problem I have now is the clunky sound from the rear shock absorbers or something in the suspension, it's mainly on rough bitumen or speed humps. I have notice a heat guard between the exhaust and fuel tank and that's pretty rattily but I don't think it's the cause.
When I had my 15,000 service I did mention it and the manager said they re-tensioned suspension bolts but it didn't work.

Hi,
I have done 23000Km and the rear suspension noise is still there and all the service guys do is tighten the suspension.
As for the front- the noise is back and the service guys say it is normal- Ja right
I have given up- just living with the problem until I sell end of the year

I too find it hard to get my Dealer to do anything about this problem I guess there's no money in it for them unless they get a recall notice from VW Germany, all they say that the car was taken for a test drive and everything appears as normal. Yesterday I jacked the car up and took the rear wheels off and then spayed silicon spray in and around the lower mount and also the sway bar rubbers, the car was a lot quieter. Today I'm going to take the bolt out of the lower shock absorber mount and pack Graphite Grease around the bolt and rubber bushes and then put the bolt back in, hopefully that will quieten it down a bit longer.

A common fault with the golf 7 front suspension noise is due to the strut top mounts. We have replaced loads of these under warranty.

Update on rear suspension noise:
VWSA asked me to take the car to AA for a full inspection. This was paid for by VWSA.
I witnessed the test and also took the manager for a drive. He could hear the suspension noise.
At the workshop when he was conducting suspension tests- he could see that there was a difference in the both
shocks movement.
Now I await for VWSA to advise further.

I would be interested if the fitting of the new shock absorbers fixed your problem, next week I'm taking my car into the dealer and ask the Service Manager to come for a test drive, surely a cars suspension shouldn't sound this noisy. One thing I have notice is on a wet day when the suspension is wet I don't hear the noise makes you think it could be the shock absorber mounts, I might try spraying some CRC around the mount.
