I contacted VWSA after seeing this and they confirmed that there is a fix available for both the radio and wastegate plus I should take my car to a dealer. So I phoned my dealer and as usual they know nothing. They do not even want to check the system for any notices using my VIN as it might be related to specific cars only.

William1234 wrote:Had an interesting call from the dealership where I bought my car from. Apparently VW has now finally acknowledged the 2 faults with the radio and the wastegate. The parts to fix them will now become available for ordering through their system. And the dealership will get in contact with me once they have them and so that they can be installed.

What these parts are, I don't know. But I will keep you guys informed when they are installed and if they work.

Well I phoned the dealer again today. They can't say when they will receive the parts, and I am not yet sure if they have the software update. They didn't have it last week when I specifically asked if they had received the new software.

They can tell me though that they have an open job card to install the clip and update the software.

Really? One can courier items from Europe in 3 days and software, well we all have the internet.

Thanks I had a chat with Karen whom I originally lodged the complaint with at VWSA. She phoned the dealer and they will order the parts need for the fix plus call me to book a time for the repair. No let us home this does not take weeks to sort out.

**Update**

Got a phone call from my dealer this morning. Car booked in for the fixes next week Thursday.

Went to drive the 81kw 2.0 TDI this morning. Would make a worthy upgrade from my TDI.

Glad you liked it. What do you think of the fit and finish on the Golf 7 compared to your Polo 6R?

The 6R Polo is good and mine has held up really well over the last 3+ years. The sales guy remember when I bought mine from his colleague, because it was the first TDI they got in before the launch. I'd still choose the Polo over many of the other same segment (dare I say more modern) brands on the market.

But back to the Golf VII.

You cannot really compare the two. The Golf is really good quality. Everything feels solid and the materials feel like solid pieces. Nothing feels flimsy or like hollow pieces of plastic. Even compared to the Golf VI, it feels quite a lot better. It's an extremely quiet car.

I really enjoy the fuel consumption and the everyday driveability of the TDI. The Golf immediately felt like a slightly bigger, better quality and quieter version of my Polo. Which I guess it is. If feels planted on the road, with enough power/torque to effortlessly get up to highway+ speeds. Really a good way to travel to work and back every day.

They offered me a trade-in on the Polo, and some discount on the Golf. I'll sleep over it.

Hey guys,

Ok, the sound on my car is getting louder and quite annoying. Not as loud as it used to be though.

What part are they exactly waiting on? Is it a revised clip specifically for the 7?

It is damn embarrassing to drive around with the noise. :bang: I am not sure what the part will look like but I can only imagine a clip type fix. After Thursday I will be able to check when my fix is completed.

I bought a golf7 1.4tsi highline.brilliant car,but there is one problem.I had the same problem with my golf 6 tsi comfortline.there is a rattle at the back, that sounds like something is loose.after a lot of adjusting and checking,it appeared that the left back door lock needed adjusting,so the rattle was gone on the 6.now I have the same rattle on the 7.it seems to be happening on a cobble or rough road at low speeds, and when going over speed bumps.almost sounds like the rear axle being loose or a shock absorber not functioning properly.adjusted the back, checked if anything is loose, but all seems to be tight and in place.

Otherwise the dual charged 103kw highline is a brilliant car.
Anyone experiencing the same?
G

Yes,

I have 1.4TSi comfortline and have the same noise.
Like the suspension is loose.

Even the front when you go over a hump

Maybe it is normal??

Hi everyone,

Been a while since I was last on this forum, but glad to find this thread. Recently took ownership of a TSI Comfortline, and have the same problem with the noise and radio. Have not followed up with the dealership as yet but nice to know it's not just paranoia. Apart the two small problems I think it's well worth all the praise and (admittedly over the top) advertisments.

I'm looking into building a custom subwoofer box that will fit into the spare wheel, and just asking if anyone has experience with this sort of install? or possibly a a complete product one can buy?

Cheers

Hey there.. Have you checked the accessories catalogue for the Golf 7? They have exactly what you are looking for. Not sure on pricing though.

Hi Guys,

I havent driven our Mk7 1.4 TSI C/L very much, but my mom complains about a slight rattle now and then, I told her she was paranoid because she drove a B8 A4 before the Golf. But after reading this thread I had a look/feel on the wastegate rod/arm and it was also slightly loose. Radio, same issue. Which dealer would you suggest going to t get it sorted. I used to work at Hatfield VW Bryanston and sold my dads Amarok and the MK7 from there, but I'm NOT taking the car back there.

Yeah, asked when I purchased the car and the salesman said they are not available. I'm sure it will also be well overpriced thus the choice to do it myself.

There is no stock of any Golf 7 accessories yet. Believe me I have checked. Wanted to get the chrome tailpipe trim.

Anyhow I decided today I would check with the dealer if the parts arrived for the fixes they are meant to do tomorrow. The part to fix the waste gate rattle is still on back order. :bang:

So my booking for tomorrow is useless. The dealer will phone me next week when the part arrives.

Nope. The dealer is still waiting on the part to fix the waste gate rattle (on back order). They cancelled the booking I had for yesterday. Will pop the service manager an email today to check ETA.
