Well done to Lawrence and Rob for putting on a spectacular day. Rob's contacts and Lawrence's organisational skills really shone at this event. The attendance was WAY beyond all expectations, so really, well done guys.

Thanks also to everyone who attended. Events aren't nearly as epic or as fun if there's only 5-6 regulars. So keep up the good work KZN'ers. There are some hot rides down there.

EPIC doesn't do it justice! That was just amazing to drive in with my GF and the kids and see literally an entire parking-lot of Dubs! Woohoo!!! Huge ups to Lawrence and Rob and the Video crew and everyone else involved for organizing what was undoubtedly KZN's biggest VWClub gathering ... well done guys! Sorry I couldn't make the run and photoshoot but this has gotta be an annual event, so maybe next time around my cabbie will be ready for the cameras.

Hi guys

So from my side I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who helped me in the planning and executing of this event, and of obviously all who attended. Without all of you, yesterday would not have been what it was!

It certainly exceeded all of my expectations!

The camera crew guys confirmed this morning that based on the drive by video footage there were 212 cars on the run, excluding the camera crew guys.

Yes, 212 cars!!!

This was honestly the biggest Dub event I think a Durban has ever seen, and I have a feeling it may even have been bigger than anything JHB has seen too (perhaps the JHB comm can comment?)

Clearly there is enough interest to make this an annual event, and so that is what we will do. Except next year will be bigger and better!

I truly hope that all of the dubs that came through yesterday will keep coming to our events so that we can continue to show out tricked out rides to the rest of the country, and can continue dubbing together and enjoying the scene like we did yesterday.

I am currently in CPT on business and am heading off to the airport now to catch a flight back to Durbs, so I will get back on here this evening and post up some more details about where and when the official photos and video footage will be available etc.

Thanks once again for your participation in the first annual Durban Dub Day.

Well what a MASSIVE EVENT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to every single guy and gal that braved the initial weather conditions and pulled through without your involvement the event would have been a major flop !!!!..Thank you all for behaving on the public roads and at the venues....we obviously going have to plan bigger and better events for the near future and hopefully see you all at the next one .

Big thanks to
Lawrence for all the help and paper work, emails, phone calls etc without him this event would not have happened!!!!!
All the better half’s for running registration table the photo/club table at the warehouse ....I know it’s a kuk job but thanks again
Leigh ,Matt, Rob from Grind ...you okes were hiding all over the show ..and with sheer volume of cars I know it made your planned routes alot harder to get to etc ....as I am sure as everyone is ...I can’t wait for the video !!!!!
Beeg Shane for lending me his Avante no questions asked to mod it, to load film crew and equipment ,shoot out his sunroof ,out the boot ,windows and letting me drive the way I did to get all the footage the crew wanted and still letting me drive after being pulled over by the police !!!
Richard and Damien from Photo101 for banging out amazing shots in the photo booth in that heat without any breaks ...I've seen a few of the pics and trust me the owners of the cars are going to be uber stoked with the results !!!!
Rob From Allied Transport for letting us take over his warehouse for the day....thank goodness there was just enough space for all the cabs..
UV for letting me take 10 000km life off his tyres .......
