Polo classic clutch hard to push in

Hi good day all

I recently bought a polo classic 1.8, I'm looking for advice on the clutch, is the clutch also that hard to push in, the previous owner says he replaced the clutch cable but the clutch is hard to push in where once you release it's hard to find the butting point to move off
