VW T3 SYNCRO

Post by Andrew Hempel »

Good day good people
I have a very nice T3 syncro that was fitted with the 2.1 boxer motor
I have fitted a 1.9Tdi motor into this bus with the relevant management system and 'fly by wire' accelerator pedal
I have had the bus out on the road to test and 'iron out' niggles
I must just say that I am ABSOLUTELY 'over the moon' with the performance that I am getting....... it goes like a rocket. I will be able to cruise comfortably up and down 'dale' at around 90kph
So a lot of the niggles are small things, but could be disastrous if not attended to.
First is that we are getting the gauges sorted.
Being a diesel and being a conversion, I have added an electrical oil pressure gauge and water temperature gauge.
The water temp gauge is 'plumbed' into the hot return pipe and seems to be reading fine.
Stuart Stirling has been and absolute 'bank full' of knowledge and has assisted us tremendously.

One little issue which we would like to get working is the temperature gauge in the dash.
To do this, we need some assistance as wiring diagrams are a bit of a nighmare.
The sender unit that sits at the back of the motor has 4 wires coming out of it.

I think I have the colours, but could be open to correction as my eyesight isnt that good anymore

Question is for you knowledgeable fellas is, which one could we 'T' into which we could send for reading to the gauge in the dash?

But I think I might be answering my own question here...... the old T3 system is analogue........ the new motor is digital........
