Tiguan 2.0 TDI ECU remap... worth it?

Post by garriths »

Hi everyone

I have a 2019 Tiguan 2.0 TDI R-line that has recently come out of manufacturer's warranty.
Stock, it has 130kw and recently I've been thinking about having a ECU remap done and possibly a DPF delete.

Would this be something worth doing?

If so, does anyone have a reputable place in Gauteng to recommend?

Cheers and thanks in advance!

Definitely worth doing, probably add in an egr delete aswell. The egr fails easily on older 2.0TDI engines, not sure if it's updated on this car or not. I personally prefer to get rid of the entire egr unit incl the cooler.

The less kak the car has, the less problems u would have. Lol

Try the jhb dealer of SR Tuned, he would be able to advise on where to get the hardware sorted out.

Thanks for your response, Ashveer03
I'm struggling to find JHB contact info for SR Tuned.

How about Steves, I've read mixed reviews on them?

Mooloo from VAG Cafe did a REVO Stage 1 remap on my Caddy 2.0 TDI at about 36K km and it has been running perectly ever since.
Definately worth it.
Oh, Caddy clicked over to 175K km last week.
