weird idle 9n tdi 6speed

Post by deon rupnarain »

Sup Gents

had this car for a long time now and she has had ZERO trouble.
SOOOO
help me with this weird issue , pleasssse :hi:

The car raises its idle to 1000rpm whenever it wants too? wth. :bang: :bang: :bang:

when the idle is high - i scan it on VagTool , no errors - nothing....am i doing something wrong? i did however notice a slight wobble on the car , probably because car raised its idle????

Also , whilst the idle is high - no engine light - no malfunctions ....car still boosts and revvs like it should .

she is stock not even a dp or a cooler . mileage 270000kms - Full records as well.

I have done the ffg from my side

Cleaned out the dirty MAF
changed air filter
cleaned EGR valve right down from the intake -
a mechanic that is assisting advised that the Vaccum Box is buggered hence no errors on the VCDs. he also said double up on the earthing ?

I even thought this is weather or air con related - nope .

ey i dont know now....any other suggestions ? please advise.

thanks in advance gents.

cheers.

I had raised idle when the coolant temperature switch was wonky... mostly at startup.

Switch was buggered though and the gauge didn't even register. But have a look at it.

Double check your boost pipes, if there is a boost leak and the maf is plugged on it will raise the idle, had this issue ended up being a boost leak too.
