VW Touareg Aircon

Post by molekots »

Hi,
Is it normal for the aircon of Touareg V6 (2019) to switch itself on when you suddenly accelerate hard? Once it has switched itself on, does it not switch off and some point? I once drove for 180km and it never switched off until I manually switched it off.

Regards

Don't think so, if anything I'd have thought it would have switched off. I think once the aircon if on, it has to be manually switched off again. Has it done it again? Anything else odd happen?

Apparently it is (was a thing) when accelerating close to WOT that aircon would be disengaged to help deliver max power....

WTF  It's an SUV, not an SR-71 evading a Russian surface to air missile.

Nothing odd except the automatic switch on. The problem with this is sometimes you do not realise it until its cool in the car and it is bad for consumption especially when doing town driving in Joburg.

Weird indeed! Does your car have one of those fancy tracking units that monitors acceleration and braking etc?
