In light of the recent Covid-19 outbreak, the Vw club committee has seen it fit to postpone our next event, VKC until the 26th April, pending any further postponement due to governmental and societal calls of action.

We value our members, participants and their families and apologies for any inconvenience caused by this decision.

Further communication will be made to all participants via our Forum, social media and email.

Yours in VW

I think the Club is going to be under a lot of pressure now regarding events. Even when this lockdown ends, social gatherings are going to be heavily restricted and I think we should wait and see how this plays out.

The restrictions will even mean travelling between provinces for pleasure will be prohibited. I fear this year's Dubrun may not even happen at all either. :(

This is a pretty tough situation. The committee is awaiting alternative possible dates for the venue, however we need to keep in mind the possibility of there being a limit to be set on public gatherings, which will naturally affect not only this event, but future events too....

...namely dubrun...

We are desperately hoping for good news from the powered that be, however the committee is exploring other avenues regarding Dubrun as we understand both the gathering of more than “X” people might not be allowed as well as unnecessary travel between provinces possibly being disallowed.

Rest assured this year’s committee has all our members/attendees’ health at heart.

Myself and the Committee are in talks with the VKC management team regarding possible dates for our event to take place. More details will be shared as soon as they become available. Protocols will also be listed to showcase health and safety procedures for the event from both the Club and Venue.

Registration is still open for anyone who wishes to take part, and I’m pretty sure many of you can’t wait to rip up the VKC event with us!

It’s been a long wait, but we’re finally ready to race after the #Lockdown and we simply cannot wait to shred up the track with you all!! We are still accepting entries for the event which is capped at 60 entrants.

The new date is set to Sunday the 30th of August. All the original rules (in the original event description) will apply along with the following additional rules:

•Unfortunately no spectators will be allowed at this stage.
•Social distancing will need to be adhered to at all times.
•Face marks will be required to be worn from all participants.

The venue will have sanitizing stations as well as all the appropriate measures in place according to the covid regulations.

We want to have a great day out racing, but furthermore ensure that all are safe while doing so.

Much love

I see other events are allowing 'one' pit crew per vehicle any ruling on this from VKC?

That will have to be confirmed, however the info I received was drivers and organizers only, but I will definitely follow up and let everyone know.

This is going to be epic... I am in dire need for some vroom vroom

I know that thus far its pretty much drivers and organizers only and also gathering from what Level 2 lockdown regulations stated regarding sporting events how likely are we to:

1. Have a small pit crew? (1 or 2 guys)
2. and Can we have passengers?
