2014 Audi Q5 2.0 TDi Quattro Stronic

Post by Neuk »

Does anybody have any experience with these? Is it the same 2.0 TDi engine as the rest of the VAG range? @panic-mechanic - Any big issues to look out for?

Same engine. Very good. Swop timing belts at 90k. It will live forever.
Gearbox is zf's version of a dsg. Has similar issues. Expensive to repair when it goes wrong. You do get it in a manual.

Thanks Dazza. I went to see and drive the car, it looks to be in good condition with some wear and tear as one would expect. It drives well and I couldn't pick up any obvious issues and checking the service history there wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Unfortunately, though this is not specific to the Q5, I will miss a lot of what I have in my Golf in terms of technology. It is time to move on though and I am looking very much with my head and not my heart for various reasons.

Arg, I picked up that a service record is missing, the delearship sales team is on the hunt for it but as it stands they can't sell the car with FSH at agents.

They can't source any proof of the missing service so have to sell the car without FSH from agents  It looks like it was a minor service that was missed as the last service done was a major with brake fluid change and new brake pads front and rear.

Might be a clerical error.
Audi CT messed up mine, and loaded the service under the warranty portion and not the service portion as I had the boot shocks replaced at the same time as the service so that I wasn't without a car for 2 separate days.

Let's hope its the same situation

You can see my previous post, nothing has been found, both warranty and service sections of the vehicle history have zero entries for 2018 when the missing minor service should have taken place.

I just didn't feel comfortable going ahead with buying a car without FSH and little to no details as to why the service was missed. Especially since the cambelt service is due soon and I have no idea if the DSG service was done according to the schedule.

My ex has a 2011 and its constantly giving her issues. Don't think it was well looked after by previous owner. Millage as around 150k kms. Only reason i know this is because every time it breaks i have to do the school run. Don't mind!

there is no DSG service until 100k km. I would not even lose 1 minute of sleep about that missed service. Somebody screwed up the paperwork most likely.

Did you check the history with the vin no?

Asking as Audi Rivonia didn't stamp the service book on the wife's car. When I queried this, there response was that they just capture on the vehicle history and not in the book anymore.

I asked for a copy of the vehicle service and warranty history which has the gap in it.

Panic "made" me buy the 3.0L TDI.. And I'm stupidly happy with it! Sorting out a slight headlight issue with the dealership (failing bulb leading to lights turning off @ night.. LOL). Besides that, FSH with Audi, 7-Speed S-Tronic box, goes like stink.

Apologies for only replying now, my work IP address got listed as spam  The dealership tried to get invoices or proof of the missing service from three different Audi dealers but came up empty handed. I decided to rather not rush in to a car I wasn't originally looking at, I can wait a bit for a better car to come up like a 3.0 V6 TDi Touareg.

Thanks and thanks for the PM. I am still on the hunt for a 3.0 V6 TDi Toureg or Q5 although the Toureg is first choice.
