VWCSA Presents "The Midnight Run"

Our very popular event from 2016 returns in 2018 with a small twist. (https://www.vagcafe.com/vag-cafe-attend ... night-run/)



This time sees us leaving at the stroke of midnight, to drive the ring of Johannesburg again. While the route may seem simple, picture over 500 cars trying to find space on some narrower less lit roads around JHB.
Starting and ending on the East Rand, all cars, crews & photographers welcome.

The run will stop at the Clubs Clubhouse, at Oettinger SA, where we will formally launch the clubhouse.

Coffee and snacks will be available.

Time: 23:00 (11:00pm)
Start Point: Cnr Edenvale & Van Riebeek Road, Meadowdale, Germiston, 1614
Distance: +/- 70km

Run starts at : MIDNIGHT

Big VWCSA events and Joburg weather never get along. Friday evening took me back to the 2016 event, when the JHB weather just wouldn't play along either.

That didn't stop over 500 vehicles participating in our Midnight Run.

Meadowdale Mall didn't know what hit it, as hundreds of vehicles congregated at the start point, as early as 9pm.
All makes of cars were welcomed, and the parking lot was almost full to capacity, with cars from all marques.

The briefing was held and the route explanation given, along with a stern warning to keep to the rules of the road....

Quite a few drivers decided that they would drive straight to the end point, the VWCSA Clubhouse at @Oettinger!

Huge thanks to Ross and team for hosting us, and supplying the FREE Coffee's to all in attendance.

I watched the convoy arrive, and a steady stream of cars arrived for over an hour, it was a sight to behold.

Thank you to everyone that joined in the fun, we are so happy to have hosted you!
