Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Hi Guys,
Just found this online regarding the noisy shocks, seems like this guy got it sorted out.
Has anyone else had any luck with getting the noisy suspension sorted out?

Right... Car is in for head light level (apparently can be adjusted on VAS) and the radio software. Let's see what happens!

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Radio software updated - seems to be all fine, but time will tell. Headlights were also adjusted and are much much better. There is a manual adjustment that they make, but then it has to be saved on the ecu to remain effective. So much for the amazing customer service at Hatfield Bryanston, who told me there is no software update and the headlights are fine! Will never be going back there again. Had my car sorted at McCarthy VW Constantia Kloof, which is where I normally service.

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Haven't had that issue - that sounds like interference between the demister and the aerial in the window itself. Haven't used the demister that much to be honest - have only had the car about 6 weeks

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Also not happy with the fitment of the 5c5 071 911c, although VW's system selected that part for perfect fitment with my vehicle's VIN.gorman wrote:Hi Dawie, please post an pic or two of your exhaust tips. I'm also not 100% happy with mine, not too sure if it looks a little OTT!Dawie wrote:Looking good there rpps. I just fitted my polished chrome exhaust tips from VW. Not 100% happy with the fit but will play around some more with placement. I see your after market ones protrude quite far out.
The angle of the factory exhaust tips on my TDI does not go vertically down, they go down, but to the left, so fitting the new tips, you will see the drainage holes on the new tips aren't facing at an absolute vertical down. I personally think it looks a bit odd, and not a perfect fit at all.
But looking at the tips from a standing view, or from another vehicle, they look somewhat ok.... Please provide comments and opinions on what you guys think regarding the look?
This is the standing view of the tips. looks better though.
Comments PLEASE

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Bought a 1.4 Act model last year. No problems up until two weeks ago, when at traffic lights I could hear this noise like a pump or grinding noise fading in and out. Brought it back to VW dealer, mechanic heard noise and wanted to put it up on ramp and see what it was. When it was up on ramp he couldn't hear noise so car stayed with them over night.
Picked up car today, was told they sourced a pulsating noise back to aircon, they reset aircon, refilled so I was told etc and sent off technical data to VW. Funny thing was I didn't have aircon on anytime I heard noise or it doesn't be on when I hear noise. I was told if noise returned to bring it back. Drove home and by time I got home the noise was still there, fades in and out like as if it's on a washing machine cycle or something like that noise, you can certain hear it over the engine just ticking over. This noise I only hear if I'm stopped... I rang them back to say noise is still there but was fobbed off saying they know about it and will wait to hear back from VW about was is the best course of action.......bloody annoying....

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Hi all
I recently pickued up a 2014 demo tsi with dsg and xenons.
So far so smooth however I have one issue which perhaps other owners may have dealt with:
I have the cloth seats on comfortline.spec.
The seats initially feel very comfortable, but around 5 minutes into driving, on every trip, I get stiff in my shoulders and my neck starts to hurt. By the time I come home in the evenings I am in considerable pain.
I have spent perhaps one full hour adjusting the headrest, steering wheel tilt and scope, lateral and length support of the drivers seat but I cannot seem to find a good driving position.
I have followed advice on YouTube videos for correct driving posture but still no joy.
I have driven a BMW 3 series and a merc b class in the last 3 weeks with no back or neck pain and so its not an injury as I am fine in those vehicles.
I'm 5 foot 7 and 78 kilos so its not a weight/height issue.
Anybody had a similar issue?
I love all other aspects of the car, but if I cannot resolve this it may cause proper damage to my neck and upper back if this keeps on occurring.
Help?

Wow, And i thought i was the only one, also have cloth seats (not a huge fan of leather)
I've had the car for over 2 years now and I still can't find a perfect driving position.
I am changing stuff around almost weekly.
Thought it was just me.
I never had this problem in my golf 6.

I've not had any problems, although I don't know if suede seats count as cloth? My R and my G6 GTI both had leather and I had no problems. Have you tried adjusting the lumbar support?

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Don't think that the material has anything to do with it, the leather/suede seats are very different to the standard cloth seats.
I think that if you chose the leather option, you got "sport" seats.

Indeed - based on current specs on the VW website the comfort line gets comfort seats and the highline gets sport seats.

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Hi Guys, just finished reading all 50 pages, sorry to hear about the problems some have been having. I recently acquired a tsi R-line comfortline with the lowered sports suspension and must confess I haven't had any issues as some have been mentioning to date, most likely that they have refined most of the problems mentioned as they been going along. My average consumption is at 8,5l/100km at the moment, Im in traffic everyday so could explain the higher side of what I thought I might be getting (7,5 ish). So far I am quite happy with my purchase apart from every other boy racer thinking its a R type and looking for a dice of some kind, quite hilarious most times, probably because I added the 18 inch Santiago GTi mags as well.
When I got the car from the dealer I asked the dealer if any mods were allowed that didnt void warranties etc and was told without going into much details yes minimal, like exhaust, intake as some have done via them??. I havent enquired since then as I thought best to learn the car. My question to the owners here quite simply has anyone done or enquired about "enhancements". Dont get me wrong, if I wanted a GTi trust me I would of gotten one, but I know for a fact that intake a exhaust can inprove consumption. I'm not keen at all on chipping etc. I'm just looking to score on the consumption...Yeah I know drive a bit more conservative...but whats a man to do in traffic??
Any knowledge gents??
