What a predicament...now Alpine VW has a 1.4 TSI comfortline with factory fitted leather, sunroof, media composition, high beam assist in Tungsten silver....plus sales rep will throw in the mudflaps for free.....TDI-4 Months wait....TSI-1 Week....

I would go the TSI route, i find my one very economical on average 6.1l get a minimum of 710km on a tank town driving only, aircon on permanently, when i hit the long road I've gotten 1000km on a single 50l before. When on holiday with a fair amount of long highway runs i get 850km+ on a single tank, not beating down on the diesel, i love diesel but for a petrol these things are very economical.

Tungsten Silver is a very nice colour by the way

Managed to get a white with factory fitted leather from Weiss VW, going to take that over the tungsten silver, like the tungsten but the white with the factory leather looks so sweet...

That's not bad mileage at all, went to PMB today with my polo and with mixed driving averaged 8.4L. 6.1L seems very diesel-ish...thanks for the feedback , much appreciated.

well maybe its the G6 diesels not getting as good economy as the G7 diesels as you pointed out.
i wonder if there is another site like fuelly with more G7's on it.
fuely says 6.9l/100km for me while OBC is at 6.4 now...i can't understand the discrepency tbh.

I was just being a troll.

The OBC is more optimistic than real world. Have never given it too much thought, but I'm sure there's a reason why.

maybe the OBC deducts either aircon or idling or both.

anyway regading Dantes' choice it seems little doubt the tsi will cost more in fuel than the diesel would.
however to make up for it (some would say) the tsi comes with dsg and he can stat saving 4 months earlier
at the 40 000km he does a year the diesel will save even more cash at least till the warranty/service plan runs out

the tungsten silver will look clean longer than the white but will be less visible on the road.
if needing to be touched up the white will be easier and no-one will ever properly match a patch resprayed in tunsten silver.

Dante...another thought would be you should be able to get a specific car in 2 months if you find the right dealer.
somewhere in the vw group a dealer has a car about to be final specced before being build and shipped.
the right dealer will locate a car such as this in the dealership pipeline and make a plan to aquire that slot for you which should cut your time down to say 10 weeks.
however you will then have to change gears manually for each and every one of those 40 000km you drive a year.

Anyone with a DSG having overheating problems on the transmission???
I have 3500km and this afternoon my Golf TDI DSG had the transmission overheating ?
Read the manual about start-stop traffic and "creeping" and this could be the cause.
Anyone else had this problem ?

Need to find someone with an OEM Rosstech cable with updated software.
Then we can play and setup the cars.

I just went to have another look at a TSi and must admit, it's miles ahead of the G6. So I retract my comments posted earlier in this thread.
I might drive a new comfortline in the next 2 weeks.

I know the 1.4 TSI DSG is no rocket ship, but has anyone timed the 0-100 on this car? It's rated at 9.3 but I'd like to know if anyone has confirmed it.
The initial pull off with the DSG box does seem a bit sluggish and would like to know how the 9.3 seconds was achieved.

Guys I still haven't been able to find accessories for the 7 GTI :bang: . I'm looking for DSG shift paddles and a lip spoiler for the front bumper :( , carbon fibre would be cool.

I've tried E Bay, but couldn't find anything.
