Went past the dealer over lunch to enquire whether they have the radio update (as I don't have the Advanced Setup menu/RDS on mine) and when I could get it. The service consultant said it takes like 2 hours and they're really swamped, so had to book my car in for January.

I thought it was a simple SD card software update?

Hello guys,

I have just joined this forum hoping to get some info about the issue I noticed with my Golf Mk7 TSI 140hp DSG Transmission.

I have got 2 weeks, and I am already having a problem

In low speed ( 5o-60 km/h), I keep hear ringing ( amybe santa claus bell ?) from the engine side which goes on for 3 secs, go off then on...

2nd issue, is the hard suspensions ! I almost feel evry signle little hole on the road, eventhough the car has 16 inch wheels :geek: I thought only Gti has sport suspensions ?

Any ideas ?

Not sure about the ringing/bells. Did you have the dealership take a look?

As for the suspension, did the dealership take out all the transport blocks from around the shocks with the PDI?

Am the proud owner of a new White Golf 7 1.4 TSI Comfortline DSG.
Extras I got are:
  • •PDC Font and rear
    •Panoramic tilt/slide sunroof
•Leather sport seats with front seat heating
    •5.8" Touchscreen radio/CD "Composition Media"
Still in the honeymoon phase and loving it...
Car just has to go back to get the windscreen wiper stalk replaced.
Another thing I've noticed, does anyone else with a comfortline G7 have one touch up/down electric window switches?
I thought mine didn't until I found out this morning that only the front passenger window does (the switch on the actual f/passenger door and the switch for that window on the drivers side).

perhaps the battery was unhooked? Seems unlikely that only the passenger window would have the function. Try hold the down side until window goes all the way down, and hold for 5 seconds, then push up side, and when shut keep holding for another 5 seconds. Then try the one touch feature again. The window needs to "learn" where the end points are again after the battery is unhooked

I have accidently disabled my passenger and driver side one touch function a few times by closing the window will something like an arm was blocking it. Then to reenable you have to do what Belix mentioned.

The one touch buttons should have a "double click" feel to them? The passenger window buttons are the only ones that have that.
Think it's time for a trip to the dealer.

How to make yourself look like a real prat. Rock up to the dealer and ask why your car doesn't have one touch up/down windows only to be shown you're being a moron.
Oh well, was still stoked.

Hey Guys

I'll be booking my car in soon to have the 3 main issues resolved, Noisy Wastegate, Radio signal and noisy rear suspension.

Any additional info I should know before taking my car in ?

Also does anyone know of a place in CPT that stocks aftermarket parts for the G7 ?

You from the Northern Suburbs? Think I saw your car at Sportsman's Warehouse during December.

Even with the minor issues, I still always have a smile on my face when driving my G7, got her booked in on Tuesday to sort out the wastegate and radio issues.

Yup, also digging my G7.
Taking it on Tuesday for the radio software update.

Noticed (and complained about) some moisture buildup in the rear lights, after a rainy week. Got communication from VW that it's normal for the new design of lights and that it goes away after a short time of driving (it did). Anyone else notice this?

Also got a communication about the radio issues (station jumping, bad reception, etc), and the solution to these. Will try post photos of them later.

Yip. Mine had this at the front - during the first week of ownership. VW did know about it already when I asked, and mine hasn't done it since.

Not had a problem with moisture yet but I do have two dead mozzies inside one of my rear indicator lenses. No clue how they even got in there.

so whats the best route for better fuel efficiency or power for a 90kw 1.4T without blowing the warranty?
edit: also are there any OEM bulbs to replace the orange front fog bulbs with to match xenons better?..perhaps bulbs off the GTI?..and if not OEM which non OEM are best?
thanks /edit
