for johandt

i also installed my first clip... then a second one both crap... then after w8ing another 1month period they installed a third clip which is good...

this is happening because the clip is forced fitted and sometimes it gets loose so u need to get lucky with good clip and a good instalation but after that no more worries :)

good luck

Thanks Corbu33, seems like that's the route I'll have to take. Took to the highway today and the sound was there. It's also there at around 80 km/h.

Hi Guys,

I have no reception problems- Don't have reverse camera but have PDC.

The only thing that is annoying is the suspension noise - no fix as dealership does not know what to do.

So tired of going back and forth to dealeship waiting for 15000KM which will be in a weeks time

Could someone tell me when the 1st service is due for the Golf 7? My car is showing 12 days or 6500km's. Surely that can't be right as my car pre delivery service was in Feb this year.

The service books say 1year or 15000km's but my car is only 9 months old... Very confusing!

I was told the same but insisted that they reset it.
You dont want to see that pop up everytime you start the car.
At first they did not know what to do, then the technician did something with the brake and the key in some sequence.
Viola... message gone.
that message should only show when you have approx 800k's left till your service.

Hi all, new to the forum, 2l Tdi. I had the radio reception issues and had them do a software upgrade. Massive change, have yet to have a radio station drop out on me. It adds the advanced setting menu under radio settings with RDS and AF.

Have a strange metallic scratching/squeaking noise coming from the rear - is this the suspension noise that was mentioned on the forum?

Yes - a lot of complaints about that. VW don't have a fix for it AFAIK?

My wife has a Golf 7 TSI trendline.
It does not have the coming / leaving home lights activated. I think there is a way to switch it on with a VCDS cable and software.
I also want the mirror dipping when you engage the reverse gear to be activated.
Can anyone assist me with this in Cape Town?

You can find a lot of coding in the link below. Just use Google translate in chrome to translate the page.

I got some feedback on the 'rear suspension noise' my dealer stripped the suspension and found that the noise is apparently coming from the rear left fender body panel. They have sent a report to VW Germany and are waiting a response on the fix

My car is booked in for Tuesday morning next week. The dealership will be doing the SD card software update on my radio. I really hope this solves my reception issues as my car will then be fault free.

Hi All,

Check this out. After going to my dealership over three times to sort my suspension noise,
I went to a different dealer for the 15000KM service and explained the problem -they have diagnosed
the shock top mounts on the front and going to change this.
This is what I found

Very interesting Vanesh. I tried having a quick look at mine but while the shocks are compressed it is very difficult to see. I will ask the dealership to check on Tuesday while my car is there.

This happened to me with my Polo. Only noticed it the first time I had my tyres balanced. Luckily no damage.

so let me understand... all they have to do is to remove that "things" from the bumper ? or completly replace the bumpers

and another question: u say u hear problems on the front suspension but i hear some bumpy noises on back... is it the same issue also in the back ?

thx

Has nothing to do with the bumpers.

Its plastic pieces that are fit around the shocks when the car is transported from the factory. They're supposed to remove them before being sold. Its quite simple.

Cannot comment on the front/back noises as I don't have it.

by fixing the front you mean removing the transport protection from the shocks ?

they told you that all golf 7 can be affected from this issue or it is more a dealer issue ?

Got my car back at 14:00. Radio software update done. Now shows version 421. They also checked my shocks but no sign of blocking pieces left behind. Then again I have never really had suspension noise.

Hi guys,

Picked up my Golf 7 2.0 TDi Comfortline last week. Loving it thus far. It's a demo model, Pacific Blue, 13000km on the clock, with these extras:
- Composition radio with iPod connector
- Mudflaps
- Cruise control
- Light/rain sensors
- Aluminium bootstrip
- Towbar

Some tart wrote my previous car off (2006 Polo 2.0 Highline), so this is somewhat of an upgrade!
