Hi Kripstoe,
Please post a photo of your radio where the you can select stations list, logos, etc.
I want to see what options you have as I don't have the advanced options and TP option like the photo Dawie has posted.
Thanks

Hi Laiton,
I was seraching the web and I found that on the golf7.com site, a guy in Malaysia is complaining about the same noise.
By the way, if you wash your car, does the noise stop for a few kilometers?

Hi Vanesh
Funny you should mention this....it does stop for a while after a car wash. Its very strange and Benoni City VW cannot sort it out! This is really destroying my experience. I'm hoping, that as time goes on, somebody on this forum has a bright idea!

Guys can anyone tell me where I can sell my 16" Toronto rims? I replaced them with 17" when I purchased the car and now these things are sitting gathering dust.

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
My opinion on the rear making a noise and then dissapearing for a while when washed makes me believe that th rubber strut mount on top of the shock is rubbing against the body, when it gets wet it acts as lubrication, I would suggest spaying Q20 in the rubber and then see what happens.

Hi Mgbotha
I fitted 17" Audi R8 replica wheels (Alpine Wheels makes them) I wanted to fit 18's but the ride becomes very very hard. I have already tried to lube up the rubbers but the noise is more severe than just from creaking rubber.....and.....it only comes from the left rear of the vehicle.....

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
YEs the noise is more severe than rubber.
If I can explain, tuck, tuck.
This happens only on uneven surface, not speed breakers, but where the wheel/shock has to move up and down due to bumps in the road.
I also eperience this on the left front, when approaching a speed hump but this is more like a knock.

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Here you go. I don't have the Advanced options yet. Car was at VW today and I saw the printout that VWSA sent. Update for radio not available for us in Western Cape. Seems weird. But they're aware and working on it.VaneshN wrote:Hi Kripstoe,

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Quick update:
VW Golf 7 2.0TDi 81kw Comfortline
Odo: 2100 km
Car Long-term fuel consumption calc: 5.21/100km
My own fuel log consumption calc: 4.7/l/100km
- No suspension noises.
- No windscreen wiper issue.
- No turbo clip rattles.
- Radio reception is a slight issue. VWSA and dealership aware.
- Left/front headlight had a little moisture on the inside. VWSA is aware of this and looking into similar reported cases.
- Drivers seat backrest adjustment knob (the round plastic/rubber thing) will be replaced as it seems to be a bad moulding or broken on assembly. Warranty claim, ordered and will be here next week.
Car is very comfortable and economical. The engine reminds me of my old 9N3 1.9TDI, just much, much more refined and a lot quieter. Very easy to drive in traffic with very little throttle needed to pull away (in 1st gear you can pull away slowly without going over 1000rpm). Auto dimming rear-view mirror, rain sensors and auto lights all work well in various conditions. Bluetooth phone integration works well. Variable-ratio steering is quite nice. Handling is quite good. Performance is adequate. Have not attempted a lot of spirited driving yet.

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Hi Kripstoe,
Thanks, I have the same.
I saw on Dawie's besides the advanced function, he has the Traffic (TP) function.
I saw this in the manual as well but we don't have the option.

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Nice update kripstoe.
I have now done 6500 kilometres and the suspension noise I use to here seems to be gone (will have VW check it anyway). Radio is working well and my wiper issue is no more after the wiper replacement. Only issue I now have left is the waste gate rattle.
Noticed something weird this morning on my way to work. Sitting at a traffic light waiting to turn left I noticed in the reflection of the car in front of me that the daytime running light on the side where the indicator is flashing is off. Switched off the indicator and there the daytime running light comes back on again. Wonder if it is meant to work like that?

Hi Dawie,
If you have the standard lights then yes it will do that and is supposed to do that if you have xenons then that won't happen, on one of the forums it was explained.
Cheers

Dawie, i noticed the same thing on my neighbours Jetta. He then queried it with VW. Apparently it's a new feature to allow the indicator to be more visible.Dawie wrote:

Some feedback on Lip for waste gate rattle.
Phoned dealership to ask what is ETA.
The guy at parts said that the part is only arriving in Germany on 1st July 2013 and should be with him 2 weeks later.
Not sure where the part is arriving from, possibly "China"

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Hi from Australia, I have a new 90TSI manual Golf and I have been reading with interest about the poor FM radio reception as I have the same issue with my car.
I took it in to the dealer this week and they couldn't fix the problem and stated that VW Germany are aware of it and are working on a fix.
Seems like a common problem and you would think by now that VW would have a fix sorted out, I have the Advance setting enabled on my radio.
I would be interested to find out if anyone in S.A has had this problem fixed yet.
Other than that I love my Golf great ride and handling and plenty of power from such a small motor, I'm greeting 6.2L/100klm which is excellent.

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Welcome to the forum. I stand corrected but Aus got the Golf 7 a bit later then SA? Would have thought VW fixed the radio issue.rpps wrote:Hi from Australia, I have a new 90TSI manual Golf and I have been reading with interest about the poor FM radio reception as I have the same issue with my car.

Anyhow I see you mention that you have the advanced settings menu. Do you have all the options enabled under that menu? Your photo of the channel logos shows frequencies and not station names. Unless you disabled radio text or RDS.

Re: Golf 7 TSI/TDI Owners Discussion Corner
Good morning All,
First post here, but have been following the thread for a while.
Vehicle = 1.4TSi Comfortline (DSG)
Also experienced wastegate rattle, but was fixed by dealer. Poor radio reception, still need to have it sorted by dealer.
Not sure if anyone else experienced the following - using iPod Nano (16Gig) with factory cable supplied. I have noticed that you would be listening to a specific song (let's say 25% through) when you switch off the car. Next time you start the car, a different song is playing - seems like it continues playing and does not shut down. Went out of country for 2 weeks about a month ago and iPod battery had drained and had to be reloaded as well.
If I change to Radio before switching Off the car and then back to Media (once car is restarted) it works fine - last song continues playing.
Only other problem experienced was an "Electronic Park Brake Failure" while driving home on the N2 - no handbrake and no hill hold. At home I switched off ignition, waited a bit and then restarted car and everything has been working since then. Dealer said I should keep an eye on it and bring it back if it happens again.
Regards,
Marius
