Sent the service manager at my closest dealer an email with a photo of the clip installed (thanks William) and hope to hear from him soon.

I felt the same when moving from my PGTI to the MK7. Ok it was from 1.4 to 1.4 but still quite a power reduction and yes times have changed with the fuel price now impacting most of us.

My dealer (Culemborg) is awaiting delivery of their clips. Will let me know as soon as they have it...

Probably next week some time. Also need to replace my aircon condenser when they do the clip.

There are three options for lights, stock, xenon and xenon with LED driving lights. Trouble is seems the dealers don't know what they are speccing. I recon you need to find the option code yourself and ask the dealer to add it, otherwise you may just end up without the light bar.

Hi,

I have the Xenons with LED DRLs. Ordering code as per OTP: Xenon headlights(PXB)

Only gripe I have with Dealer is that the spoec said, Xenons with LED Tail Lights.
My Tail lights are not LED. So waiting for answers from Product Planning

I've been researching this topic of the Xenon's and this is what ive found. The first models that came out in the UK had Xenon with day time running lights but they did not say LED daytime running lights. That's the one issue.

As for your car not having rear LED lights is a bit puzzling because although your OTP said code PXB it didn't come with Rear LED lights, that's what you're saying. Although the code was PXB the first batch that came out were like the UK's first version but since the 26 March 2013 that changed. VW in germany made sure that the wording was very specific as the marketing guys cocked up. So as the VW website and Product brochures state:

•Bi-Xenon headlamps with taililights in LED Technology, dynamic headlight range adjustment, dynamic bending lights, LED daytime running lights, headlamp washer system and warning light for washer fluid level.

That is what you should get, if you haven't then they need to rectify it or do as they did in the UK and the Xenon's were refunded to the customer and they kept the lights as is. If your car was still on order you could have the upgrade and the 400 quid was compd.

http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/509480.aspx?PageIndex=2

This link answers a few questions, but i contacted my dealer and he informed me that as the product brochure states, you will get just that, they are very specific when they say Bi-xenon headlamps with tailight LED technology, so VW have covered themselves in that respect.

I suppose getting these cars later that europe is actually a blessing in disguise cause the UK dudes can fight the fight and VW has time to rectify thier **** ups before it get to us

Hi,

My car was at the dealer on the 8th April 2013.

So 26th March 2013, Production would have already be completed and the car must have been on the boat.

The front DRLs are fine- U shaped LED

Maybe the rear is solid LED. I need to see a car without LED Tail Lights but I can say that the licence Plate is not LED

Had a G6 TSi (comfortline) - No problems at all

Now I have a G7 TSi (comfortline)

1) Radio reception is terrible
2) Turbo noise (which is driving me crazy)
3) Driver side wiper leaves a nasty streak
4) Rear washer leaks
5) Double click on the electric windows works 7 out of 10 times

I was told that VW is aware of the Turbo noise and that it would nt break anything.

PS. My golf 6 (same engine) Felt a lot faster.

Re: Golf 7 Owners Discussion Corner

Post by Vannie »

Hi

Im a prospective Golf 7 buyer. I have test driven the following models a couple of times:

- 1.4 TSi Comfortline Manual
- 1.4 TSi Comfortline DSG
- 1.4 TSi Highline

However, I am struggling to decide between the Comfortline DSG and Highline Manual. 2.0L TDI Highline out of the question because it's overpriced and according to the reviews not that good. Some questions & statements:

1. Comfortline DSG an absolute gem to drive. I love the smoothness of the gear switches and the paddle shift functionality is awesum. The only downside to the Comfortline is the alloy wheels (mags). I don't like them at all. The Golf MK6 Comfortline rims/mags are much better looking. I have seen the Golf 7 with 17" Madrid wheels online. They are similar to the MK6 Comfortline wheels. Now that looks much better. My only question would be if VW SA would make them available in the nearby future? I've been given a quote of R30k for Highline rims (Dijon) to be fitted on the Comfortline, and thats excl tyres. That would be an additional +/- R7k.

2. Highline: Ride is also extremely good, although a bit harder because of sport-suspension. I like the additional trimming and the sports seats. The additional 13kw also makes a difference in power. The Dijon rims looks fantastic.

Another question...whats your opinion regarding the panoramic sunroof? It adds a defined look to the car and at low speeds it's nice to have the sunroof open. But how long would one actually use the sunroof? First two months and then the nice gadget is a white elephant? And is it really worth the additional R9k?

Whats your colour of choice? I can not decide between White and Tunsten Silver. I'm afraid that Night Blue and Pacific Blue might age quickly.

My specs would be:

Comfortline DSG:

Xenon lights, Leather, High beam assist, PDC, Panoramic sunroof and IF possible 17" Madrid wheels.

Highline Manual:

Xenon lights, Leather, High beam assist, PDC, Panoramic sunroof.

I apologize for the "essay" but I think the owners on this forum would be able to give me an honest opinion and it would assist me greatly in my decision. I've ask a lot of questions to the sales people during testdrives but I think they'll always give you the answer you want to hear, just to confirm a sale.

Im looking forward to your feedback.
