ive heard that the after market intake makes no real difference... is it true?

Once your car is mapped will you only see the real gains of an aftermarket intake such as this.

Quick question on the Intake.
I saw it on Vee's car at the WRC dyno.

My concern is that the cylinder which the filter is in was scorching hot and right next to the engine.
What material is the cylinder made from, is it a sheet of metal or some form of ceramic.

Wont that heat affect the power. I know when you driving it takes up direct cold air but man was that cylinder hot when i felt it.

i am awaiting kits for these cars. Things are moving slow ever since APR/VWR bought over the VAG product line from ITG.

Received my ITG intake yesterday (Thanks Shaun)

I personally think all 6R Gti's should come standard with this, even though the engine looks bare without the standard airbox.

Man what a difference...sounds so wicked as well and compliments the SW.

Next up, a downpipe....
