Long Coding Byte 18 (Central Electrics) MK6 GTI

Post by Herschel »

Does anyone know what the light coding is for a Mk6 GTI with xenon headlights with DRL & rear halogen lights?

I recently purchased LED lights for my fog lights & tried coding it to the vehicle but kept having issues with bulb out error displaying on the dash. I then returned the LED's & got halogen bulbs again. When I put the byte 18 coding back to how it was, it now doesn't switch on the tailgate lights & i get an error for the bulbs. The outer tail lights are very dim.

I can't seem to find any info on how to solve this issue.

This is my backup of the module & i have put the coding back to this with no resolution.

I remember the VW guru Morne at VW hatfield telling me stories of trying to get light coding back to stock after people had been changing it. Pity he has relocated to Canada. Can't recall why, but it was not as straight forward as changing the coding back. Good luck.

Did you come right? If not I'll make a copy this afternoon of my coding for you to compare what may be different.
