Hi all,
I've searched the forums but not found a conclusive answer.
I notice that the doors (especially the front left door) of my 2006 Polo will sometimes randomly unlock. This happens pretty much always while driving.
Any idea if this is mechanical issue, or electric? Easy or difficult to troubleshoot and fix? Expensive..?
I was advised to (un)lock the car with the key for a while, rather than with the remote. That didn't seem to solve the problem.
I wonder where to take the car. It isn't particularly safe to have a door (or more) unlock while driving in town.
Thanks in advance!

Still on my first car (1.4 Polo (BLM)). I'm not a mechanic, but eager to learn all about servicing and fixing it. Thanks for your patience and help!

Re: Polo - Doors randomly unlocking
Faulty microswitches in the door locks or faulty signal wire. My bet is on the microswitches. Take it to a dealer and get them to replace the faulty lock(s). Be warned, the new locks are quite expensive. Few thousand rand at least.
-Or-
Go to a scrap yard and get replacement lock(s) and swap out yourself. 50/50 they wont do the same thing.

Re: Polo - Doors randomly unlocking
There was a DIY online and I think on this forum at one stage to test the microswitches with a multimeter and replace them. Can't seem to find the link now but I'm sure some one on the forum has done it.
