Polo 2012 1.4 Vivo dashboard lights not working

hi Guys

Can you please assist. my dashlights, aircon lights etc just stopped working. all the lights ie inidicators etc are all working. i have checked the fuses hopefully all but they seem fine, all my headlights and tailights, parklights are working. ive searched the forum but no one updated their resolve on the issue. can someone pls advise. VW agent wants me to make a booking and charge me quite a bit just to investigate with the parts or what ever, who knows how much they gonna charge me especially in these times. anyways can someone pls advise.

oh yes when my light switch is on the off position then it illuminates ie only the light switch when i turn on my ignition, the moment i turn the lights to park or totally on, then it does not illuminate. could the light switch be the problem even though my lights are all working?
