Hi all
Hoping you guys will be able to help.
A friend of mines has a 2012 Polo vivo 1.4 with 87000kms. It was recently a in for service at vw Rivonia. They picked up the front shock mounts were cracked and control arm bushes need to be replaced. Based on the low mileage does this make sense? Any recommendations where she could get this done or checked for a second opinion in Johannesburg, preferably close to Sandton /bryanston?
Thanks any assistance would be appreciated

Re: Polo vivo. Front shock mounts, control arm bushes
Depending on the roads she rides on, it is entirely possible that the parts are getting tired.
I have no idea on recommended places, but please be patient as the forum is very quiet at this time of year.
Someone will recommend places she can take the car to for a second opinion.

Re: Polo vivo. Front shock mounts, control arm bushes
From what I remember, the Polo Vivo's based on the 9n3 platform were nearly identical mechanically to 9n3 Polo's, which had numerous front LCA bush issues so it may be possible that they need replacing. Perhaps contact VAG Spec Centre in Randburg for assistance, they offer excellent service and great pricing.

Roads are generally quite decent she drives on , the only thing is she has encountered a few potholes lol don’t know how much those contribute. .Jetta2 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 2:07 pm Depending on the roads she rides on, it is entirely possible that the parts are getting tired.

Are you sure it wasn't the 6r that shared bits with this shape vivo?Neuk wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 2:11 pm From what I remember, the Polo Vivo's based on the 9n3 platform were nearly identical mechanically to 9n3 Polo's, which had numerous front LCA bush issues so it may be possible that they need replacing. Re: Polo vivo. Front shock mounts, control arm bushes
The OP asked about a 2012 Polo Vivo which was based on the 9n3 Polo, I am sure the current generation Polo Vivo is based on the 6R Polo, or maybe the 6C.Greenz wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 1:09 pmAre you sure it wasn't the 6r that shared bits with this shape vivo?Neuk wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 2:11 pm From what I remember, the Polo Vivo's based on the 9n3 platform were nearly identical mechanically to 9n3 Polo's, which had numerous front LCA bush issues so it may be possible that they need replacing.
