Odo Display fading

Post by KaRBoN85 »

Hey guys. Looking for a local place in CPT to replace the ODO LCD. It only works when the car is cold and fades to nothing as the car heats up.

06 Jetta TDI. Half size Display

Thanks

I had the same on a 2006 Touareg i bought. Ended up buying a new LCD from eBay and installed it. Have yet to find local who does this repair.

I will try to reseat it myself, removal and reinstall is simple enough. Will also try to find a replacement cluster at a scrapyard ( Maybe an upgrade to full LCD)
Looks like it can be done with VCDS.

Does your stalk have the adjustment controls or you have steering controls that can cycle through that menu?

Only has the Up/Down and OK button on the stalk. Will possibly have to replace that too if I go the upgrade route

Thats perfect, you just need the Comfortline spec cluster like my dads, its a direct swap and code.

The highline cluster like mines needs a new module for the Central electronics and has an additional menu that needs another button(called central convenience) and thus requires steering controls. It is no different then the comfort spec and the menu is absolutely useless if you have VAGCOM.

The comfortline has the same features but no convenience menu.

Ok Great. I did read that some codes need to match up. I will have to check out where to find the code and which are compatible

Thanks @Callum229
