Paint code

Post by kylebassani »

Hi guys,
I tried searching for this on the forum as well as Google, but could not find anything.

I'm trying to determine the "name" of my car's colour so that I can do some paint work to the car and get the correct paint from the start.

The only code I could find on the car was the one below and when typing this into Google this code does not appear.

Could someone please advise how they managed to do find this?

VW paint codes start with an "L".

Look here and see what shade of silver closely matches your cars colour (cannot see properly with that pic of the VIN tag), and make an educated guess:

Thanks really appreciate it

This is a great website.

Here is a slightly better picture of the car.

I think it might be LP7V

Good morning, I hope you are well.

I saw your post when I was researching information about my car, a 1992 Audi 500 SEL 2.8 V6 automatic.

I am looking for the meaning of the codes under trim and options.

My car has got similar codes as yours, 202, 8079 and 8579.

Do you mind giving me some information about the interior of your car.

Interior color, seat colour, leather or fabric, electric windows, electric mirrors, central locking, air conditioning, ect.

Kind Regards
