Threw gear oil in at the wrong place

Post by Don Gustavo »

Hi guys, I think I threw gear oil in the wrong place. After reading some stuff on here I've realised it was not where it was supposed to go. Not sure if it's the hole for the timing or what? Help please

It doesn't feel like it is, think all that oil is out. But, I'm not too sure.. It was revving like an automatic on Saturday when I was driving. The cars idling is also a little off now

bad move. The friction material of the clutch will have absorbed the oil. So way to remove this without replacing it all.

I've seen guys throw in Coke in order to flush out some of the oil residue, but how effective it is I don't know.

Revving like an automatic is sign that the clutch is slipping.

Amstel, I drove the car yesterday and it was back to 'normal'. A friend said, it might have all gone into the Bell housing and out. So I'm not too sure.

Hopefully the oil has past the clutch fast enough as to not be absorbed and ran out the bottom but sounds like the clutch surface is back to normal. now.

You not the first person that I know lol. Now you know what that hole is for.
