What must I look for on a 2011 Golf 6 GTI, before buying it, got 95000km on the clocks.

DSG or Manual? Car will need new chains, tensioner and guides - budget about 5-10k depending on workshop etc. DSG might require a service, Manual will need a new clutch because the OEM ones are kak. Change fuel filter as well and probably an oil change.

Before buying a 2011 MK6 GTI
+1 on the timing chain and tensioner.
Mine leaked some oil from the megatronics and vw had to replace the unit as they don’t replace the seal that leaks.
Also had issue with the intake manifold but not sure if that is common on these cars.
Overall they excellent cars enjoy....

Clutch on manual was about 9500 when i did mine.
May want to keep in mind waterpump at age. Housings crack once they age.

Water leaks - on the pump and check around the radiator.

Chain and tensioner maintenance - 10K roughly
Coil packs will likely need replacing at some stage in your ownership
Waterpump will likely need replacing sometime in your ownership
radiators are known to leak at times
Possible oil consumption issues not uncommon
Its not the most maintenance free car.

Yeah, there is a high percentage of cars that had issues with this. PT2015 error? I had it, but it did not affect performance, or the drive at all. ~10k to replace with a newer unit via the agents. The part is quite pricey, but it can probably be done a bit cheaper if you can swing a spanner, or if you have a good indie to assist.
