2006 Jetta 5 Windows/Fuel cap wont function

Post by MikeFG »

Hi All
i have a 2006 Jetta 5 2L Comfort line
1st issue started with drivers side window not wanting to wind up or down - opened the drivers side panel and wound window up manually.
So for a while all was ok - except the drives side window - all other windows worked well and the fuel cap could open without a problem
Yesterday everything went south -
None of the other windows wants to wind down and i cannot open the fuel cap or use the electronic lock to lock/unlock the doors
i have checked the 30Amp fuse in the car - no problem there
Does anybody perhaps have pointers for me check what else is wrong
Also i live in Centurion - is there perhaps a reputable place close by where i can get these spares - second hand if possible
Goldwagen does not have these spare
my contact no is 083 304 5657
Thanks Mike

It appears it could be related to the combination switch in the drivers door acting up.

First step would be to have the car scanned to determine whether a switch or two could be the cause of the problem.

There is a place in Hennopspark close to the Chamberlains which specialises in Volkswagen Audi cars - VAG Automotive Centre Centurion, Unit 1, Stuarts Business Park, 4 Hilda Avenue, Hennopspark. Tel no. 010 300 8833

It is also worth checking the wiring loom in the area between the door and vehicle frame. They are known to fail. Check YouTube as these looms are a known stock fault. Especially the drivers door as it is the one that is mostly used.
