Dicktator 60-2 ABF intake backfire

Post by Hannibal8026 »

Hey guys.

So after doing a Dicktator 60-2 conversion on my Mk1 ABF it has been backfiring through the intake manifold when the ignition is switched on (not started). I'm using a Opel Corsa 4 pin coil pack. The 12v supply is connected to the same relay as the ECU. Is there someone that can shed some light on this situation?

Thanks in advance!

it is triggering or allowing a spark on switch on. That it finds fuel to allow combustion is kind of worrying though. Does it ALWAYS do it or only in certain instances. like maybe just after running or even when having stood for hours and hours. maybe you have a leaky injector.

Perfect Power dealer. I do dyno tuning.

Agree with panic. Could be a leaking injector as Dicktator give a one time pulse when ignition is turned on, so if there is fuel leaking and intake valve is open it could ignite the fuel and you will get the intake backfire.

Okay so this happens only every so often and not every time its switched on. Can happen any time so it is not something i can recreate on demand. I did do a throttle conversion this weekend. So 4 entirely different injectors and still does the same. I did think that the dicktator gives a pulse to the coils and injectors when switched on. Just thought someone had a solution to this
