Lowering springs brand choice

Post by RicardoAM »

Hi there guys, was hoping someone could help me on this matter. I am looking to drop my car with a lowering kit for the time being until i have the time to save for coil overs. now my question is the 40mm Evo lowering kit vs 40mm N-Force lowering kit.

Which is better between the two seeing as both are around the same price points

Car is a polo Vivo

Both aren't the best, but will suit your application.

They will work. But SO often it comes back to “save the money, get Coilovers”.

A set of FK or Joms will set you back 5k-6k and then you will have the car sitting exactly how you want it. Want the front lower - you can do it. You will get the ride height you are after.

But back to your Q, on stock shocks a 40mm drop will be more than fine so take your pick.

Im leaning more to the Side of the EVO mainly because they are green, seeing as it does not seem there is much difference between them but thanks to all for the advice

Best advice is rather drive the car as is for now in stock setup and save up for the coilovers.

Patience is key.

I would advise go for coilovers. Even a decent set of 2nd hand JOM coilovers.

But to answer your question, between the two brands I think there wouldn't be a noticeable difference between the two.

Depending on your mileage you might have to do shocks as the shocks might show fatigue after it is dropped with just springs.

Eventually new shocks and springs = Coil overs

I did some research as well and found that springs (Barons Cape Town: about R3.2k) with the koni sport shocks to be the best setup with that route, but would cost about R8k for everything incl fitment. FK coilies would end up costing less incl fitment, I got quoted for R1200 for fitment and wheel alignment, and FK coilies for about R5k-R6k.
You're on the right path; but, you have to choose for yourself.
I'm looking at getting coilies late next year because my warranty only ends in June 2020.

Edit: Got a re-quote from Barons Cape Town; still R2900 incl VAT

Any update on how these held up after over a year?
Looking at getting springs for my Vivo, the Eibach are a bit pricey but have the perfect ride height for my application.
Just wanted to know how your experience with these were.
