Howzit guys
Has anybody used the tp100 module on other makes of cars?
Planning on using it for; a conventional points system to electronic distributor conversion on a ford.
Oh, reason for tp100 is that its easy to get from almost anywhere..
Share your experiences/opinions.. thanks

Re: Tp100 Ignition module
Ok cool.. so as long as the distributor has a hall effect type sensor its gonna work out.

Re: Tp100 Ignition module
Ford often used a positive switched ignition module as opposed toma negative switched module which tp 100 is.
So depending on what distributor you are going to use. But the ford module also exists aftermarket and is called Tp1000.
Just google search tp1000 echlin and you'll find it.
actually just go here and have a look at the pdf.

Re: Tp100 Ignition module
Hi Guys I trust you are well.
I am new to this forum and would greatly appreciate some help.
I have a 2000 model vw caddy pick up 1.6 carb which was giving me hassles to start yesterday.
it would swing and not start, I checked for spark and there was none.. eventually found out the black wire that goes to the module in the scuttle was damaged. I bought a new module and wiring for the module. the van started however once the module gets hot the vehicle cuts off. once cooled it will start up again. Then yesterday evening after starting it again it cut off and blew the new module. I put on the original module I have on the van and it gave a dragging start as if the starter was faulty but eventually started and this one also got hot and vehicle cut off. I had people saying that maybe the module I bought is not god quality and some saying it could be the coil that is packing up thus making the module hot.
please guys I would appreciate some insight into this.
thanks

Re: Tp100 Ignition module
very hard without being able to test some stuff but yes a bad coil could fry the module. So can bad or incorrect wiring.
